Vegas is back
« on: March 19, 2023, 01:03:07 PM »
I guess. Haven’t been since three years ago when they actually shut down. Came back again and stayed at Caesars/Nobu and the table minimums are now $50 on the low end. Is this to make up money from covid losses, or are we just seeing inflation hit the tables? I had a buddy go a year or two ago and said it sucked because the tables couldn’t be full so they jacked the rates up to make up for the difference in people. I guess it’s like gas prices, it goes from $2 gallon to $5 gallon and when they bring it back to $4 you’re happy for it. Place is wide open now that’s for sure, good to see their economy booming.

March is always a big month here. It’s sort of the unofficial kick off of the season. Spring break all month long, NASCAR brings people to town amd of course March Madness.

IRON, I've lived in  Vegas off and on since the end of a singer called Elvis when this town treated one and all like family where you could sit and actually win at games like Blackjack, Craps, the slot and even Roulette.

Rooms on theStrip would set you back at $39 a night and just a few bucks more if you arrive in town on a Thursday through Saturday and left on a Sunday.

The best meal in town would be at any of the numerous buffets within the numerous casinos which would set you back about 8 t0 12 bucks each which included the all you can eat shrimp which you had to peel yourself.

I've seen this town changed for the worse since them good old days ....

Table minimums were $3 to $5 on the Strip but once this covid situation gradually slid away, gambling tourist from every parts of what so-ever were hit with $15 -$25+ table minimums, 6 to 5 Blackjack wins, continuous shuffling machines,  three triple zero roulette wheels, $100+ hotel room rates, resort extortion fees, $10 an hour parking fees, and last but definitely not lease .... $35 to $100+ buffet fees.

It's somewhat apparent to me that the so called covid situation turned gamblers and other LV visitors from dumb to dumber because it's hard to find a vacant gambling table on or off the Strip now and the buffet lines encircle the casino.

Visitors are now spending or losing more money in this town since the day gambling was legalized and the casinos are booming and continue to find ways to send you back home with an empty wallet/credit card.

I'm not quite as dumb as the rest of them because I know where to play and how to play when I play  .... which is seldom nowadays because the casinos have fucked it up BUT ..... today/'s players don't seem to give a damn.

So now they want to charge you an extra $32.50 if you want your bed-sheets and towels changed or trearranged.

But if you plan to come back and hit  the casinos, let me know and I'll do my best to let you know where to go and, if necessary, how to play .... so that  you'll most likely  win a  bit or ...... lose less....... and enjoy yourself either way.

They are jacking up the price of everything in Vegas because they have to make that money back from what they are losing with so many states legalizing gambling. $50 table minimums is ridiculous.

Just attended AWCI and Connex, been there a few times last 12 months, can honestly say go somewhere else, Vegas is now too busy and expensive, I say this from the position that I can afford it, but it just makes no sense, the hustle is now out off control, go to somewhere like Nashville its a far better destination . The next three conferences were to be in Vegas for AWCI, but like others they are rescheduling elsewhere, getting good corporate deals are too hard. Vegas is still a great destination but there's no value at the moment just too expensive and no reliability on bookings, if they get a better deal after you booked, you won't even get a cancellation.
