Melvin Anthony amazed everyone. If his calves were bigger then he is a contender for sure. An argument can be made for several guys to be the champ. Rockel was totally overlooked. When you see his photos next to everyone else the guy shines. Martinez also looked fabulous in some poses.

I like Vic and Melvin for 1-2 or 2-1.

If you go by db from the back then clearly Culter wins. I don't endorse that pose as deciding who the Mr Olympia is.

That second picture you posted of Cutler you cannot even see his right side. It is in the shadows. How can you make a fair comparison when the guy is in the shadows? Look at his upper left lat. Completley in the dark.

Also the Mr Olympia has been decided from the back since Haney was winning Sandows. Dexter has great detail but he is to small to compete with Ronnie and Jay. I know that is not what bodybuilding is supposed to be about. But that is how it is these days.

Even in that picture Jay has better thickness and size. Not to mention his hams/quads/calves are bigger and more detailed.

If the photos from the Olympia are accurate representations of the men then Rockel had the best physique and package of all the competitors. It may have looked much different in person. Shorter guys like Rockel and Priest don't always get compared favourably against the taller men.

One thing is absolutely clear from the photos. Ronnie Coleman didn't look great at all. I like the post that suggested we ask the IFBB to award Rockel the Sandow! The more images I see of him the more impressed I am. The odd thing is that I don't agree he was better than Priest at the last show in Melbourne. The images are up at Doherty's Gym site.

rockel looked good but the fact is he is just too small...line him up onstage next to jay and ronnie and he dissapears...its always nice to see guys with nice lines, small waist, ect...but bodybuilding is still a muscle contest first.
