I think it's for running out on the Nail Salon bill.  Did she even pay them.

Kelly Ryan, who arrived back to Las Vegas, Nevada on January 26th, is due to have her case heard in court on January 31st, around 8am in the morning. Sources say that Kelly will not be there, as she will be appear via video teleconference. There are a number of issues supposedly to be discussed, including perhaps a dismissal of unlawful flight, a hearing for bail, arraignment, and perhaps, what evidence they have besides what we read in the police report. It is rumored that Kelly's attorney is Tim Pitaro, a local Las Vegas attorney.

Craig Titus, who arrived back to Las Vegas on January 28, 2006, is due to have his case heard on February 1st, in the morning. Like Kelly, Craig will appear via video teleconference. Craig should be represented by Steven Boozang, who flew in from Massachusetts, and Richard Schonfeld, from Goodman & Chesnoff.

Anthony Cadinale will not be in Vegas, and it looks like he will no longer on Craig Titus' defense team now that everything is in Nevada.

So why did it take so long to get back to Nevada from Massachusetts. No one know exactly. But we do know that Craig's trip took him from Massachusetts to New Jersey to Pennsylvania back to Massachusetts down to Texas and finally, Nevada. Now - that's a trip.

Attorneys for Craig Titus tell Eyewitness News they believe they will be able to secure bail for their client during the Wednesday court hearing.
is that normal to let "accused murderers" out on bail? knowing that they've already tried to flee once, and had plans to leave the country. ???

Bodybuilder Charged with Murder Appears in Las Vegas Court
Jan 31, 2006, 07:47 PM PST

Last month, 28-year-old Melissa James was found dead inside a burned out car near Sandy Valley. So far, three people have been charged in connection with her death. Today, Eyewitness News spoke with one of them.

Pictures of Melissa James can be found all over the Internet, such as this picture from body building website www.getbig.com.  She was a former fashion model and dancer who first moved to Las Vegas in 2003 to work as a personal trainer alongside her friend Craig Titus.

When things didn't work out, she moved back to Florida, but returned to Las Vegas in October of last year, again to work with Titus and his wife, Kelly Ryan. Two months later, her burned body would be found in a car near Sandy Valley.

"Have you received a copy of that complaint? Yes sir your honor," Kelly Ryan, a champion bodybuilder, told the court at her Tuesday morning appearance. She appeared in court through closed-circuit television. Her appearance lasted only a few minutes. Ryan, who was wearing a standard blue jumpsuit, answered politely to the judge while in court.

Now Ryan, Titus and a friend, Anthony Gross are charged in her death. Ryan was in court this morning but her attorneys wouldn't talk to us. But Craig Titus' attorneys were eager to get their message out. Richard Schonfeld spoke with Eyewitness News. "Our client is innocent and when all the facts and circumstances come to light I think the public is going to have an entirely different perception of this case."

Clark County Prosecutors perceive this case as one of jealousy, saying James and Titus were having an affair, Ryan found out, and James ended up dead while Titus and Ryan fled to Massachusetts, where they were arrested.

Titus is charged with murder while Ryan and a friend, Anthony Gross are charged with helping Titus carry out the crime. Contacted by phone this afternoon, Anthony Gross disavows the charges. "I wouldn't do anything like that to anyone," Gross said.

Anthony Gross is currently free on bail, prosecutors say he has been cooperative throughout this entire matter. On Wednesday, Titus and Ryan will find out if they will be eligible for bail or if they'll have to stay behind bars for the entire proceeding.

Attorneys for Craig Titus tell Eyewitness News they believe they will be able to secure bail for their client during the Wednesday court hearing.

Husband-wife bodybuilders to appear together in Las Vegas court

LAS VEGAS A husband-and-wife bodybuilding couple charged in the slaying of their live-in aide will appear tomorrow (Wednesday) in a Las Vegas court.

33-year-old Kelly Ryan appeared by video today (Tuesday) -- and her lawyer asked to have her appear again tomorrow so he can file a request for 13-thousand dollars bail.

Her husband -- 41-year-old Craig Titus -- is also due to make an initial appearance by video tomorrow (Wednesday) to hear the charges against him.

Titus and Ryan were returned last week to Clark County jail from Stoughton (STOW'-ton), Massachusetts -- outside Boston.

That's where they were arrested a couple of days before Christmas in the slaying of 28-year-old Melissa James.

James' body was found December 14th in Ryan's burned-out red Jaguar off a desert highway outside Las Vegas -- where Titus and Ryan live.

An alleged accomplice -- 23-year-old Anthony Gross -- was arrested in December and freed on 13-thousand dollars bail pending a preliminary hearing April sixth.
