Title: Pumping Iron: the book
Post by: John Smith from Canada on August 24, 2009, 01:11:04 AM
I just want to say that I thought the book Pumping Iron was better than the movie. Anyone else feel that way? I found the book more motivational as well. I also found it interesting that Bodybuilding was so popular in Iraq and the Mid East at the time of the book. Bodybuilding would probably still be popular, but people have other things to worry about like surviving all the conflict.

Yeah, Katz did seem to have issues and Corney did appear to be just living off the fringes.

Ask BEEFYHEAVYWEIGHT about what kind of "issues" KATZ had.

Chris Dickerson's brutal anal entries were so vicious that they destroyed Mike's trust in Black America.

Ha ha ha,,,,,nothin could turn a straight man gay. Where are you gettin this stuff from and who is Mike Dusa?

Mike Dusa was a well known and well used bottom for the pro's in the late 70's early 80's,Bill Pearl broke him in literally, Bob Birdsong,Chris Dickerson and Eddie Guilliani all had a ride, he posts here as Lax, formally Moosejay

Beefyhevyweight told the story of Katz trying to get some action with him when he was a judge at a contest Beef was competing in

The Pumping Iron book was a bit weird I thought. I sold it on ebay a few years back and some schmoe bought it off me for about £15 which was probably more than I paid for it. I didn't mind the stuff with Arnold and Franco in it but there was some weird amateur shit in it that I couldn't be doing with. Some strange hairstyles and clothing attire too. But then, it was the 70's.  :-\

It was a well known fact that Bill Pearl, Chris Dickerson, Bob Birdsong etc were all gay and encouraged young boys to behold their asses to them. I guess this Moosejay character was just another of a long line of young fellows who fell for it. Only sad thing is that sometimes the perpetrator becomes the giver. Hopefully this Moosejay doesn't start giving out the bottom bashing to some young relatives.

Too late, his nephew ended up getting raped ''sponsored''

Katz was mr.Universe 6'1" and there's an interesting remark, he says in the book something like " I want to be the biggest bodybuilder, but not big to the point that woudnt be accepted ".

I guess by today standars, the less mainstream accepts you, the better.

I used to visit the original World's gym after Joe Gold sold Gold's gym to that queer schoolteacher. Joe was ex military and gave free sessions to guys like me who were in the allied forces.  Mike Katz used to train at Worlds sometimes (near Hamption Drive Golds) and he was the queerest bugger you could hope to meet.... He actually touched my weener one day in 1981 (i remember because it was the day Charles and Di got married).  He looked me in the eye and said he had something hard for my browneye. I told him I was hetro and a Scottish armed forces officer and he seemed half excited and half scared. He then slinked off to chat up a newcomer.

Basically... BEEFYHEAVYWEIGHT used to be a national level contender....one contest he was doing, (when he was young...before he was at the national level), MIKE KATZ was a judge. The thread has been long deleted, but the way I remember it being posted...BEEFY was at a restruant nearby the venue, when MIKE KATZ walks in. At first BEEFY is excited, because we allways looked up to KATZ due to his Pumping Iron role...

Well Katz sits down...makes some small talk with Beefy...and before you know it... he tells Beefy, "You know..."You have the kind of Italian body I can really dig...I would love to ride your cock all the way up till the prejudging."

Beefy freaks out...and tells Katz that he isn't gay, Katz responds with, "Oh..well I'm not gay either, but when you have been around this for as long as I have, you cant help but look at other bodybuilders in a sexual manner." He then realized that he wasn't welcome at the table...smiled, said his goodbuys and left.

Later on...when Beefy was training at Gold's Venice..he asked some of the old-timers about it, and apparently Katz had been well known for this kind of crap for a long time.

M!

The infamous Sergiopump Re: Lax/Moosejay/Mike Dusa

I personally saw him in the company of Chris Dickerson in the early 80's, he was one of his groupies, Chris liked his boys to dress in leather and grow moustaches, and Chris had many of them in those days.
