The thirsty 428 Cobra Jet engine is served by
an Edelbrock intake manifold and two Holley Carbs.

Thanks for all of the kind words.  The pics are from last week.  I weighed about 195 @ 5'11".  As far as critisism on my symetry, BF%, etc. it's probably all valid.  However, I'm not training for bodybuilding.  My focus has been on funtional strength and endurance.  It feels good to be under 200lbs, strong, energetic and agile.

That said, the GetBig Spring Classic is tempting...hmmmm...

The car is pretty quick as is....and it does not take much to make it very fast....

I am more of a fan of the 87'-93' style....either way....nice car candidate....

Those cars in stock form  didn't make much over 200 horsepower and  ran high 15's in the quarter.A few bolt on modifications and you could probably get into the 14 second range. The 302 only has a 3" stroke so it doesn't make a lot of low end torque. I am not saying that they can not be built to make a lot of power because they can, however in stock/near stock form they are nothing special.  Still a fun car to drive for someone who just started driving. That thing probably feels like a Top Fueler to candidate. :)

Yes, the 86 5.0 was pushing 200 horsepower...not EXTREMELY fast stock....but pretty quick....

But, with all the parts for the 5.0's out there....for a couple grand candidate can make that car really move....

I prefer the 87'-93' coupes, personally...

I am a Chevrolet  fan personally...but I believe that 86 was the first year for fuel injection on the mustang.I'm not sure why Power Rod said 86 was the embarrassing year for the mustang, since the body stayed the same and they ditched the carb and added fuel injection.

I know.. cars like that have been way above your price range your entire life.  Maybe you should ask your broke ass family to up your allowance.

lol, what?  you think you are the only car lover in the family?

If I was going to have a mustang...that is the one I would want.   ;D

That car is actually a clone of Eleanor.  It was formerly a '68 Ford Mustang Fastback GT 390.  Originally an S-code big block 4 speed with the GT package.   ;)

I better not post in this thread any more...Nothing says hilljack like participating in a FORD/CHEVY argument.  :P  and I'm  from Indiana so that's  already one strike against me.

P.S.  Mike,if I ever met a chic that talked cars like that I would marry her.

Mindspin looking swole as always...one of the best builds i've seen on this site.

Good old mustangs...i've owned 7 different mustangs in the last 10 years.

My weeked warrior is a 91 Coupe with a 331, AFR heads and every EFI mod you could buy(i'm not listing all that shit), cage, TKO trans, control arms, built rear end, etc...runs high 11's on nitto drag radials, probably low 11's on slicks, never tried it on slicks. cold AC, power everything and gets 18 MPG but i just cruise around in it. people like the lope at idle...11:1 compression sounds nice!

i also have a 02 GT but it's my stock daily driver...

Owned a few chevy's and mopars...cars are cars, i'll drive anything domestic. i was a serious drag racer for years and fox bodies are the best bang for the buck. a friend stuffed a chevy 454 in a 89 GT and that bitch was insane...can't beat a 2900 pound car with a rat motor!

The  "LOPE" at idle is caused by the camshaft overlap not the compression. Sounds like a cool car.
