God help me so do I {spit}
Donald Sterling's Ban from the NBA is Un-American, and here's why...
that was a really good post, really good point of view from you.
It's really interesting how people are landing on this issue. My first instinct was "The sponsors are gonna drop (they did) and the players will protest (they were talking about sitting out this game before Silver spoke right before it)".
Now? Now I think I'm okay with him being voted out by the other owners - IF it is because his actions hurt the league, and he's agreed to be held to a higher code of ethics. Same way a school will bounce a teacher if a home porno "accidentally" leaks to the web. perfectly legal for her to do it, totally legal to bounce her too. So I'm okay if they bounce him from ownership due to this.
HOWEVER - i think they should bounce EVERY person that shows intolerance. Anti-gay and anti-semetic outbursts should carry the SAME punishment, as should acts of domestic violence. I have to think Jason Kidd bouncing his fists off his wife's noggin is WAY worse than this dude saying he prefers his mistress not bring anyone of a certain color to a game (but he's cool with her banging them).
If you're gonna bounce him, you bounce Kobe for using the gay slur that he did.
