It was crazy here in NY...it was like News Years Eve out in the streets here in midtown..horns honking,  people screaming and laughing and celebrating...was nice to see.    The black people seemed elated, they were chanting Yes we can, Yes we can in the streets.

Tonight was a huge step towards change...positive change, for several reasons. I'm thankful to be alive to witness this. This is major history we're witnessing.

A truly, truly great moment. I felt it big time and can only envision what my parents felt, there was a time when they couldn't even vote, let alone other things. They are close to 70, and I am extremely glad they are both alive to see this day, something I know neither of them expected to live to see. Very meaningful, very. Never thought I would cry over an election, I was wrong. Super cool birthday present for me

Congrats to President Obama.  He needs our continued input and support come January.  Lets give him a chance to see what kind of leader he can be for all of us.

Now, hopefully people of all races can further look beyond race and evaluate the issues facing America.  IMO a % blacks in America voted on race without having a detailed understanding of Barrack's history and politics.. but now that we have broken the historic barrier of electing a black (mixed race) president, hopefully we can all move on and evaluate the issues before us instead of being biased on color.  Barack also has the ability to speak for all Americans, which will hopefully teach some of the racist whites (well, non-blacks is a better term cause racists come in all backrounds) out there that color is much less important than substance and character.

Well, though Barack is a mixed race individual, as an adult he has mostly associated himself as a black American and with the black community and minority causes.  

Doesn't matter to me, I just hope he moves to the middle and is good for America!  He is president now and a president represents all of us, not just a particular segment.
