Because they were wrong about it. The mainstream media was trumpeting the message that AIDS was going to "explode" into the general population. Over 20 years later, and it still hasn't happened. So, rather than admit the error, they just ignore it. Look for the same thing to happen with Global Warming.

Right... because increased awareness and use of condoms didn't alter the infection rates at all. Got hiv test last week. The 20-30 minutes you have to wait to get your results back is scary as fuck.

Good for you. I am envious. My wife isn't healthy enough for sex and I am no stallion these days. Monogamy is the way to go for sure.

Several times I have had to get tested. It is not a fun experience by any means. And there is still alot of ignorance and fear surrounding HIV even in the medical field. The rapid result test saves alot of stress.
