I was careful to point out that she wasn't totally candid and honest about her brief teaching experience.
It's TRUE that she did work as a teacher and was let go.
The details of her being let go are what she lied about.
That's what I posted.
Just curious about folks definition of lying. If something happened decades ago and/or when something is traumatic and a person tells the truth about it to the best of their recollection and yet get some details wrong, is it considered a lie? When some of us who believe we have excellent memories talk about past events, they are sometimes distorted because memories are fallible. If we all were brilliant, we would qualify these statements by including something like, "If memory serves me right." or "As best as I remember."
I doubt this would be very effective in situations when you say the opposite of what you said yesterday, as Trump sometimes does. You might be covering your bases with regards to lying, but you'd also substantiate the fact that your memory is rotten or that you have dementia.
