To be honest, I couldn't tell you what is going to happen. Conventional wisdom is no longer conventional. I'll just have to wait and see

Republicans retain the House. Pick up 5 to 7 seats in the Senate.

Isn't the mid-term general election on the 2nd Tuesday in November? Help me out here, cite your source.

That “Blue Wave” May Be About to Become a “Red Flood”
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Irrelevant. Americans today need to know what too much #WINNING does to them. – The National Centers for Environmental Information (there’s your all-time politically correct name) issued a report on Monday that says that watching too much bad news can be hazardous to one’s health. So now you know why all of your Democrat friends are feeling so bad these days.

Where were these guys when Obama and Kerry were surrendering to Iran’s Mullahs? – Senate Democrats, feeling a sudden need to pretend to care about U.S. national security – something that historically only happens when a Republican president is about to achieve a major foreign policy victory for the country – issued their list of “demands” for what President Trump must include in any treaty with North Korea that will need to be ratified in the Senate.

These demands include the following:

The deal must include the dismantlement and removal of all nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons from North Korea. The U.S. must ensure a “complete and verifiable denuclearization of North Korea,” removing all items related to nuclear-weapons production to prevent the country from reversing course. North Korea must end its ballistic-missile program as well. North Korea must comply with “anywhere, anytime” inspections to ensure it is not cheating on the deal, and sanctions must be immediately restored if it does cheat. The deal must be permanent. If it strikes you that this list of “demands” reads like the list of goals the Trump Administration has been talking about in advance of the June 12 summit meeting in Singapore, that’s because they basically are one and the same.

Look, the Democrats are beginning to panic about their prospects in November’s mid-term elections. Bereft of any bright policy ideas of their own which might attract new voters, they are now going about the process of attempting to co-opt conservative positions on issues, starting with the negotiations with North Korea. This is what Bill Clinton taught them to do in 1996, and it’s what they’ve in every election cycle since that time.

Just a couple of months ago they and their fake news media agents were convinced that they were headed towards a grand victory, a “Blue Wave” that would see them win a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, maybe the Senate as well, and make sweeping gains in state governorships and legislative houses all over the country.

But what had once been as much as an 18-point lead in congressional generic preference polling has now essentially disappeared as the Trump tax cuts have kicked the economy into high gear and good news for America continues to pour in from around the world. Americans are becoming optimistic about the future again – one recent “right direction/wrong direction” shows the “right direction” answer coming in at its highest level in many years – and that is never a positive sign for the eternally depressed and negative Democrats, who rely on human misery and suffering to build voter support.

Think about it: Have you seen a single Democrat politician or liberal talking head on your television talk about what a great thing it is that the Black and Hispanic rates of unemployment are at all-time lows? No, of course you haven’t. Democrats don’t want Blacks and Hispanics to have jobs – Democrats want Blacks and Hispanics to be dependent on the government because that’s the best way to ensure they will continue to vote in overwhelming majorities for Democrats.

So, Democrat “leaders” – such as they are – see all this good news taking place, they see Kanye West and other young African American leaders beginning to speak out about this orthodoxy they’ve held in place for half a century, and they have no idea at all what to do about it other than to resort back to the “triangulation” tactic they’ve employed in every election cycle for 22 years. That’s what this Korea canard is all about, and you’re going to see more of that kind of co-option of GOP positions taking place in the coming weeks.

Because the reality is that, as we sit here today, the overarching national momentum in this election cycle is firmly behind the Republicans now, just as the overarching mood of the public had moved behind Donald Trump’s candidacy at this point in 2016. That could change between now and November, but it would take some extraordinary paradigm-shifting event to make it happen.

When you see San Fran Nan advocating for additional tax cuts and Chuckie Schumer out in Chicago or Detroit or Baltimore talking about the need to get tough on crime, you’ll know for sure that the once-vaunted “Blue Wave” is about to turn into a “Red Flood.” This is all very predictable.

About that Bill Clinton interview… – It occurs to me this morning that this NBC interview with Bill Clinton and an extremely uncomfortable James Patterson is a real teaching moment for Millennials. Because this is the first time in their adult lives that they have seen the real Bill Clinton that we all had to deal with throughout the decade of the ’90s put on display for everyone to see.

There he was in all his sociopathic glory, shifting blame, denying responsibility, angry at being questioned, refusing to apologize and pretending that it is indeed he who is the actual victim here. Bill’s all about the whole #MeToo movement, only in his mind it’s all about him, not the many women he abused throughout his adult life. Poor, poor persecuted Bill. Why, I kept waiting for him to toss out the whole “vast rightwing conspiracy” canard just for fun.

Here’s a hint for all you Millennials who were not really following politics while Bill was chasing 22 year-old interns around the Oval Office: The most telling line of that entire interview is when he says, when asked about his Monica Lewinsky scandal, “Nobody believes I got out of that for free. I left the White House $16 million in debt.”

See, with the Clintons, it was always all about the money. Bill and Hillary Clinton are America’s Greatest Grifters. Everything they did, every office they sought was all about what was in it for them. Their having debt at the end of Bill’s terms in office – fact-checkers show it wasn’t really even close to the number Billy boy tossed out – was in their minds justification for having Hillary turn her gig as Obama’s Secretary of State into a classic mob influence racket in which she was only too happy to sell U.S. foreign policy decisions to the highest bidders.

The Clintons – both of them – were always just in it for the money. They were always looking for their next scam. For Hillary, being elected President was going to be the most glorious scam of all.

Be happy she didn’t make it there.

Just another day in Panicking Democrats America.

That is all.

It is going to be a circus if Democrats take the House.

I've always liked the circus...even back when there was still a sideshow. Come to think of it, when it comes to politics, the sideshow/freakshow continues.

Poll: Trump Beats Obama’s Approval, GOP Voters More Eager than Dems for Midterms

Predictions of a Blue Wave in the upcoming midterm elections fueled by opposition to President Donald Trump may not be considering the president’s popularity with his base and the enthusiasm of Republican voters, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports.

On June 7, 2018, Trump had a 49 percent approval rating compared to Barack Obama, who had a 46 percent approval rating on June 7, 2010.

The poll also found GOP voters more enthusiastic than Democrats and independents about casting a vote in November and found voters overall more enthusiastic about getting to the ballot box than in the last midterm.

Rasmussen reported:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 70% of Likely Republican Voters say they are more likely to vote this year than they have been in past election years. That compares to 64% of Democrats and 51% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.

Among all Likely Voters, 62 percent say they are more likely to vote this year. Only six percent say they are less likely to do so, while 30% say they are just as likely to vote this November as in any other year.

By comparison, in July 2014, 57% said they were more likely to vote that November compared to past elections. Enthusiasm was higher two years ago during the presidential campaign, with 67% who said they were more likely to vote.

The poll also found Trump supporters more likely to vote than those who oppose the president and his policies.

Some 73% of voters who strongly approve of Trump’s job performance are more likely to vote, with 65% of voters who strongly disapprove of the job the president is doing likely tovote.

When it comes to shaping the national political narrative, voters now believe that President Trump sets the agenda inside the Beltway, with the national media coming in at a distant second.

The survey was taken of 1,000 likely voters on June 5-6, 2018. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points.

Rick Scott surges past Nelson with Florida voters
POLITICO ^ | June 11, 2018 | Marc Caputo
Posted on 6/11/2018, 12:50:51 PM by Trump20162020

Gov. Rick Scott is virtually tied with Sen. Bill Nelson among Florida voters, but the Republican is dominating the Democrat by 9 points among those nearing or at retirement age — a group that casts the majority of Florida’s votes.

The results, drawn from a forthcoming POLITICO/AARP poll delving into the policy views of Florida voters aged 50 and older, exposes a political divide that bodes relatively well for Republicans when compared to some nationwide polling that shows a more-favorable environment for Democrats.

Overall, voters in the nation’s largest swing state are almost evenly split when it comes to opinions of President Trump’s job performance, with 48 percent approving and 49 percent disapproving. But Trump’s job approval rises to 52 percent and his disapproval falls to 44 percent among voters older than 50 — a crucial demographic in the retiree-heavy state because they have historically cast about two-thirds of all the ballots in midterm elections.

Similarly, Scott leads Nelson overall by 40 percent to 39 percent, but Scott’s support grows to 44 percent while Nelson’s shrinks to 35 percent with those 50 and older.
