Nancy Pelosi already setting the tone / will be making trumps life miserable...

 ;D   ;D

Actually Trump will probably make her life miserable.  He loves to rumble and get in the dirt, he lives for it.  The libs are the ones who need safe spaces and get offended all the time.  As bad as this loss in the House is for the Republicans it may just ensure a Trump victory in 2020 as now the libs  will have responsibilities and can't just resist Trump.  If all they do is create chaos by impeachment and endless hearings this will not go over well with the public.

The good thing is we now have the genius Maxine Waters running the finances in the House.  I feel very safe and secure with her in charge of the purse strings.  ::)

Some pointers for 2020 presidential:

Ohio and Florida show overall Republican flavor - good news for Republicans

Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada maybe Iowa showing overall Democrat flavor - good news for Democrats

Shocking high continued support for Republicans in rural areas - look at the little counties in Texas, for example (80 to 90% for Cruz), that’s a base!

Exurbs are interesting: they talk about this being Trump country but not so fast. The two most exurban districts in Illinois were Democrat upsets last night (Roskram and Hultgren losses). Same thing in outer Orange County and Simi Valley, CA (e.g. Rohrabacher loss). Depends on where the exurbs are located. Even the exurbs north of Richmond, VA (Brat loss), as well as exurbs south of Miami were Democratic pickups.

It may be the exurbs that will be decisive factor in 2020.

Farming and ranching, still very important component of the economy and trade deficit/surplus. Plus, even though I am a Democrat, I come from these roots if you go back a couple of generations, and these folks tend to have common sense. Originally they were the Andrew Jackson crew.

The question is how much longer the American majority will tolerate being pushed around by a coastal urban minority.

The lines for the congressional districts are drawn in such a way that no district is competitive, meaning they are either over 55 percent Republican or over 55 percent Democrat.  It's the politicians who decide were these lines will be and it results in some very bazaar shapes.  This explains why you have congressmen in office for so many years.  There's really no competition.  If you are the Democrat incumbent in a predominately Democratic district you will almost surely be voted in again.  That's the way the politicians want it and that's why there's so much entrenchment.

Let's look at this on the bright side.  If something happens to Trump and Pence...

...Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, will become President of the USA.   :D

What the Dems think they’ve won, is a loss. Repubs take Senate. This is a win.

This cracks me up..

There was nothing before, nothing now, and nothing later

Vince, seriously? He's done nothing? How can you be so intellectually dishonest? It just destroys your credibility. If Trump was so ineffective he wouldn't be so divisive. You call appointing two conservative judges to the Supreme court nothing? Moving the embassy to Jerusalem, crushing ISIS, withdrew from the Paris Climate agreement, approved the Keystone Pipeline, opening up ANWR, brought Kim Jung-un to the table... the list goes on and on.

He's been the most effective President in the modern era. It's not even close. That's why his enemies hate him.

I thought you were more intellectually based rather than emotionally driven.

Traditionally this is what happens during midterms. The opposing party wins the house. What is usually tradition too is that the President makes gains during reelection. This was not a blue wave. This is what happens when half of the voters pay no income tax. They want to vote for Democrats who promise them free stuff from the tax revenue of the workers.

Exactly!  People who don't pay a net positive in taxes shouldn't even be allowed to vote with exceptions being made to social security retirees as they paid into the system for years.  If this was the case there would be almost no democrats elected.

So how's Kim Jung-un's promise of nuclear disarmament going? I agree with you that Trump's done a lot, although not as much as promised and not all of it good.

An Associated Press Fact Check finds it’s actually the other way around. High-tax, traditionally Democratic states (blue), subsidize low-tax, traditionally Republican states (red) — in a big way. https://www.seattletimes.com/business/ap-fact-check-blue-high-tax-states-fund-red-low-tax-states/

Who pays those taxes in blue states?  You think the majority of business owners and wealthy people are voting for democrats?  If the welfare recipients alone were taken out of the vote it would drastically change the political landscape.
