Um, not at all. I have no problem with listening to a cogent argument by democrats or liberals, who are well versed in the area of economics, politics, history, etc. In essence, people who are extremely educated on these topics.
People like Ann Coulter, and even people like Bill Maher, are "actors" for a "stage." They really only care about one thing: Money. They are not saying what they say because they deeply care about the plight of America. They are saying these things to increase their appearances so they can make more and more money.
Its hard to take people like this seriously whether they are democrats, republicans, libertarians, or independent, etc.

Politicians, in general, are part of the problem. That, and big corporations. U.S. regulators hit five global banks with $5.4 billion in penalties Wednesday for trying to rig foreign currency markets in their favor.
Sure, illegal immigration is part of the problem, but its odd that you're not more concerned with the bigger problem of banks stealing billions and billions of dollars. For change to happen at any system, its always best to take a TOP-DOWN approach. If a child is having behavior problems, you don't go to the child, you go to the parent (start from the top). If microsoft is having organizational issues, you don't go to the janitorial staff. You go to the CEO, President, etc, to figure out where the problem is happening. If Columbia University is having problems, you wouldn't go to the students first. You'd go to the President of the school and work your way down. What desperately needs to happen is an overhaul of politicians and major corporations that steal and engage in other illegal activities. Nonlinear dynamical systems states that at the moment of sensitive dependence initial conditions, small changes can lead to large changes over time, especially when systems are "poised at the edge of chaos" and are willing to change. I agree that there needs to be an overhaul of immigration, but how much change will that elicit in other areas that need to be changed? Changes in one area of functioning may lead to changes in other areas of functioning, but how much change will occur if we just fix immigration and leave the corrupt politicians and major corporations alone? Based on my study of systems, you need to start at the very top, the people that create laws, policies, regulations, etc. You start there. Fix all that shit up top and work your way down. That is the only way that LARGE change will happen, spread across multiple problem areas. You just can't fix one problem toward the bottom, and leave the other problems that are "up top" alone. That will only create minute change.
We all know that the news is controlled by politicians and other major players. Politicians push agendas like immigration, abortion, and gay marriage, in order to take the focus off of themselves. Because people react to more social-based issues than anything else.
