I bought a pedometer yesterday. Decided to walk around the local highschool during their lunch break and the freaking thing didn't go off once. I promptly returned it to the store and spent the night alone.
Pedo meters only work around nurseries, high schools are legit.
I've never found much use for the Fitbit, Jawbone Up, or the Nike Fuelband. I don't care about "points", I want meaningful data. The new Samsung Gear Fit looks interesting: it's got a pedometer, but it also has a heart rate monitor, and it looks pretty nice:http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/gear/gearfit_features.htmlNot sure what it's going to cost, though.Another alternative is a good Bluetooth heart rate monitor strap and a good app. This is what I use:http://www.zephyranywhere.com/products/hxm-bluetooth-heart-rate-monitor/http://www.sportstracklive.com/
