eBay - even with the constant 'fee creep' was still a solid service until they bought Paypal.

Together, you guys have managed to steal several hundred thousand dollars (possibly millions, I don't know) from mom-n-pop merchants.

I'm eager for the next great auction site to emerge and to at least force you guys to go back to fair business practices...the ones you had to rely on when you were an upstart and trying to get everyone to trust you.

I've recently purchased a couple of items on Amazon.com's "classifieds" service and was far more impressed than I ever was with eBay.

It's up to $3100, but the reserve hasn't been met. I wonder what the reserve is? It really doesn't matter how much they paid for this new, there's an upper limit on how much someone is gonna pay for used gym equipment, especially when they have no recourse against the seller if it's junk. Plus, if you don't live within driving distance of Vegas, it's pointless to bid on it. Someone setting up a home gym is gonna have a maximum budget in mind (far less than the equipment's "value"), and commercial gyms will only buy new. The other side of the coin is you're dealing with highly "motivated sellers". Whoever is storing it I'm sure wants it gone, and Craig's lawyers want their damn money. Even if the reserve isn't met, they might let it go to the highest bidder anyway.

There's no way they get their reserve on this auction. 99% of people who set reserves on ebay are delusional about the value of used goods.

Besides, it will be more interesting and fun when they sell off the items one by one.
