Yes it matters. All AA does in chain the poor sap into another sick cycle of addiction. AA is just another one of religions attempts to exploit the Vulnerable and get them on the GOD Botherer train. AA doesn't help the addict develop insight into their addiction and why they used in the first place. It teaches them Bullshit theories that prevents them from taking responsibility, the one thing that will help them develop as a human being.
Yes, but alot of these guys literally will never do what you're expressing. AA in this case, is the lesser of two evils. There are many ways to skin a cat, and if a dude needs AA to get sober, does it really matter? It really doesnt, you just don't like the ideas AA uses to manipulate addicts into getting sober. Thats fine, I don't care for it either, but I'm not going to knock it if it helps someone kick the habit and get sober.
For many people they have to replace their unhealthy addiction with a healthy one. And most people aren't going to just look in the mirror, suddenly deal with their issues, and become a healthy person. That comes with time. It's that initial sobriety period that gives them the opportunity to move on.. and if God, or AA, or believing in a spaghetti monster is what it takes for them to get that time, why does it matter?
