Not destroy.

It’s the only way to force the new tech to be built for our next 100yrs.

Business weren’t doing it off their own back so the world leaders are forcing them.

EVs is a good example. In order for us to have autonomous vehicles and AI driving us around we need electric cars. We have most manufacturers fighting to prevent EVs this past decade. Toyota, one of the biggest manufacturers, is outright refusing to build an EV.

Toyota Camry was the top selling car in Oz for 18yrs straight. In March the Tesla Model 3 became the best selling car. Toyota are sinking here very quickly but typical Japanese the CEO will be stubborn and continue fighting and send the business backwards.
The government shouldn't be forcing business to do anything. If those companies thought they could actually make money with EV's they would invest in them.

It’s all a coordinated effort to destroy our nations, bit by bit.
This. It's all by design. Not incompetence. Malice.

Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bitcoins - about to hit $5,000 per coin today!

Why should the price of gold be higher and what leads you to this conclusion? Gold is performing slightly better than inflation, what’s the issue?

Having billions in speculative dollars buying assets with zero intention of consumption does not equate to true price.

It is actually us who are manipulating commodity markets. I was there for silver in 2011 and saw the intentional crashing of the Comex. The rules then changed and guess what? All that demand suddenly vanished and after 2 decades price is still -40% lower than the peak.
Speaking of silver, I really regret dumping over $3,000 in 200 silver gold coins around 2010. I still have those coins. Should have bought BTC instead. I was actively looking for a hedge against the dollar back then. Bitcoin was already known and discussed here on Getbig. But I skipped right over it. I thought it was similar to the SETI@home screensaver that just drained your pockets.  ;D A friend even told me to start mining Bitcoin and I said thanks, no thanks.

why do people here think you are some kind of sage ? i read your post and i think you are a naive idiot, that or you're pushing an agenda...

They don’t. I am an imbecile retard who makes sandwiches for a living.

Once you get up to speed with the US and realise there is no resale on EV and the batteries are like your phone after a few years meaning they run out quicker as they age, you too might realise that EV isn't the answer, all value comparison models are distorted to hide the fact they depreciate so much quicker than traditional cars.

Elephant in the room here being climate change has been happening since well before industrialisation and it will continue to happen even in an emission free environment.

Hopefully enough free thinking people can be elected globally that can turn this around this being, Socialists driving socialism hijacking every cause from race gender equality climate and anything else that can bring down traditional capitalism, this way the global governments can pick winners themselves as they invest heavily in second rate outcomes for the people that elected them.

I am familiar with the US market. Did you know the Tesla Model Y was the 5th best selling car in the US and is crazy close to taking out position 3?

Fuel here is back at ATH. Do you think people will sell their EVs to buy ICE cars in a fuel price rising environment with rising interest rates?

Climate change is a narrative to justify the move. It takes 2.5M years to complete a climate cycle. In the 70s we were going into an ice age, now into warming. That’s 5M years of climate change in 50yrs. So no, I’m not a believer in us changing the climate but I am ok with it being a narrative to further us to new tech.

What time period are you viewing? Sure, gold prices have started to climb. It just looks to me like it has a lot more room to run, unless the price is kept down artificially to reduce the impact on manufacturing and sales.

Here are some past prices:

July 2011 Ounce of Gold: $1,825

April 2024 Ounce of Gold: $2,382

Increase of 30.52% in 13 years

Food prices are up a lot more than 30.52% the past 13 years. Not sure how accurate these numbers are, but here's a site that calculates a 47% increase in food from 2011 to 2024. I think it is probably more than that.

https://www.in2013dollars.com/Food/price-inflation/2011-to-2024?amount=100

Gold is a scarce asset. And if you zoom out from 2011 to 2024 it has not kept up with the cost of certain goods.

Electronics have gone up in some areas and stayed the same in other areas. TVs have come down and the tech specs have gone up. 15 years ago a top of the line motherboard would run around $250. Now they go for over $1,000 - see the MSI Z790 Godlike. The tech or features are a lot more advanced though.

I raced on the velodrome and my background is cycling 😉

The strength stuff you think of now was all the rage 20yrs ago and discussed and tested to death. 50rpm sets, one legged sets, one legged squats, all sorts of stuff.

Interesting - care to elaborate on this a bit more?
