we ened their last undefeated streak halloween night 04 8)
we will do it again :)
but they'll probably get us in the afc title game for the 3rd time :-\
E
-
it's games like these with late comebacks with precision, that have to lead ya to believe that the pats are just a team of destiny this year
-
I could actually deal with seeing them go undefeated I wasn't around for the dolphins. That gives me the pats, the bulls, the yankees, and barry bonds, michael jordan, and tom brady. All the record holders while I was alive. I am okay with this.
-
2 yards short!
-
Who's not online they just showed some getbiggers.
-
Oh brother..... The haters are out in full force ;) :D
-
OH bullshit... ALMOST ::) Dogmolesters >:(
-
I didn't see what happened on the 4th-down play that drew the flag, but there's just no fucking excuse for that shit.
And then when they didn't have a play called after picking up that 1st down on the final drive...WTF?
And NO MATTER WHAT, using a timeout in the THIRD QUARTER and then one on DEFENSE was just fucking stupid, because with Brady being Brady, you HAVE to leave your team with 3 timeouts JUST IN FUCKING CASE.
Unfuckingreal.
-
Oh brother..... The haters are out in full force ;) :D
see you next week...
:-*
E
-
ohhhhh bullshit ::) fucking NE... God I hate these fucking cock suckers ::)
Would you feel better if the pats gave you some of there wins so the broncs can make the playoffs? ;)
-
Oh brother..... The haters are out in full force ;) :D
The league is definitely on you fuckers' side.
-
The league is definitely on you fuckers' side.
Will you give it a rest. The pats have been getting called for everything in the book all year. Look at the colts game.
Tell me what bullshit call the pats got? Was it the time out Ryan called like a bonehead. How about the ravens player throwing the refs flag?
How manny passes wher flat out dropped by pats recievers. Get a better excuse. Ravens let the pats hang around and the pats made them pay.
The pats are the most hated team in the NFL , it would do the NFL no good to "help" them.
-
Will you give it a rest. The pats have been getting called for everything in the book all year. You are one of the worst haters I have ever come across.
I'd rather be a hater than a cheater.
-
I'd rather be a hater than a cheater.
Jealousy and envy.
12 - 0!!!!!!!
My guess is the pats have won more games this season then your team has won in the last two years. I understand.
Who is it you root for (other then the team playing the pats) Tre?
-
Would you feel better if the pats gave you some of there wins so the broncs can make the playoffs? ;)
oh this isn't about the broncos... absolutely nothing to do with the broncos... Come to think of it though, I'm quite happy with the broncos record against Team Brady ;)
-
oh this isn't about the broncos... absolutely nothing to do with the broncos... Come to think of it though, I'm quite happy with the broncos record against Team Brady ;)
Hey man im happy. I dont mind people being pissed off. I used to get pissed at the Yankees when they won and won and won ;)
I dont mind at all! Dont worry about it bro.
-
OH bullshit... ALMOST ::) Dogmolesters >:(
Lol this was a good one.
-
you know, this is what make football the greatest sport of all time... there is no other sport where people get this emotional about the game!
-
Jealousy and envy.
Nope - honor and integrity.
You don't value those things - I get that.
Who is it you root for (other then the team playing the pats) Tre?
That's the only team I root for these days.
-
Baltimore made critical 2nd-half mistakes that the Patriots did not make.
I still need to see what happened on that 4th-down play, though.
-

Ok Tre.... Calm down pal. I dont care if you hate the pats. Rooting for sports teams is fun. I rooted for this team when they sucked before 98.
They won , people will take shots at them just like they took shots at the cowboys, yankees and the niners :)
The NFL is the last thing you should be referring to when speaking of integrity. The niners the broncs the cowboys the steelers and the pats all have done things you can call into question , get over it.
The pats had spygate , the niners and Broncos got caught cheating the cap during there sb runs, Dallas with the hgh and drug issues. It goes on and on and on.

If the Ravens had anything resembling a balanced offense, then the score wouldn't have been close.
Pretty dissapointing about the 4th down defensive timeout. Whatever. I can really give a shit. The Ravens will go through such an overhaul next season, you'll probably won't recognize some of the new players.
This game was their superbowl. They lost. I'm over it already. I'm more interested in their future at this point because it's time for some changes.

Thats true , but what if the pats recievers didnt drop half the balls they had right in there bread basket. Moss drops a td pass, Watson drops a td pass. Gaffney drops a first down ball.
The bottom line is the ravens showed up and played the game of there life. Tough hard fought games happen. Look at the 85 bears , how close where some of there games?
I dont get into this whole expectation for the pats to just kill everyone. Not gonna happen. No team in NFL histoey has dominated every team every game all year.
-
The only problem I have is that there is NO WAY that final TD was a catch, and everyone knows it.
-
The only problem I have is that there is NO WAY that final TD was a catch, and everyone knows it.
How was it not a catch. Gaffney had both hands on the ball with both feet in, and they reviewed it. He didn't even bobble it. To overturn a td you have to at least be bobbling it. Both hands with all fingers on the ball is not a bobble.
That one was pretty clear imo.

Fuck the Pats. I'm sick of your constant nutthugging. They should have lost. End of discussion. And they will lose. They won't go undefeated. Write it down.
That defensive timeout doesn't get called, the ball game is over. Your team got lucky and you sure as shit don't look unbeatable now.
-

Ok guts. Never said they where unbeatable. No one is. Even the 85 bears played a bunch of close ones.

Look who loves the officials this week ;)
-
Body88, are you sure guys do not want Jake Long? I saw Matt Light play pretty bad but that could be due to a fantastic defense.

Matt Light has played fantastic all year. Do you watch the games? One bad game makes a season?
-
Look who loves the officials this week ;)
I dont love the officials at all. not my fault the ravens throw refs flags and screw up when it counts most. Rex Ryan is the bonehead who called the time out before the play. Not the refs.
-

That just goes to show you, sometimes you get the benefit of the doubt and sometimes you don't.

Yea, that is true and i do not think you guys can afford big Jake
-
That just goes to show you, sometimes you get the benefit of the doubt and sometimes you don't.
Never said it didnt. If people want to get made have em get mad at Rex Ryan. The Gaffney td was not even controversial imo. Both hands on the ball , all 10 fingers on the ball with both feet in the zone. No bobbling just a pull into the body.
-
Yea, that is true and i do not think you guys can afford big Jake
Yea I dont think they pick with that pick. Prolly trade down.
-
Everyone has a breaking point. Bart Scott throwing that flag didn't cost them the game. The previous questionable bullshit calls on 4th down did.
The Pats got outplayed tonight. The Ravens were more physical and you had the ball rammed down your throats all night.
The Pats didn't beat the Ravens by a long shot. The Ravens unfortunately, beat themselves.
-

He threw the flag for the blatent hold. I just tivod it. Pretty clear, to aggresive when it was all on the line. Maybe the ravens should learn how to play in big games. Not throw refs flags etc etc.
Yea the ravens came out jacked up and outplayed the pats. Only problem was the pats got it done when it counted and won. The rest is sour grapes.
Btw if Moss or Watson dont drop those td passes things would have been difr. In fact I saw a bunch of pats players dropping gimme balls. Pats beats themselves also.

Dude... did you watch it... He did not have his hands on the ball when he stepped out... Even the announcers saw it.
There is a huge gap in his hands.
That was not a catch.

I'm not mad at all. I'm a Cowboys fan. I'm just saying you have been complaining about questionable calls all year and now you defend them because they didn't happen to your team.
Maybe you shouldn't gripe so much about calls the rest of the year.
-

I did watch it. It comes down to control of the ball. Which he had.
Actually no it was not a catch. The ravens got screwed, the pats should not have won, the pats are horrible and should beat every single team by 600 points every night. They can never have a close grind it out game! They should win by 400000 points every night or they suck and the refs are on there side.

I gripped about a few blatent calls in the colts game. That was weeks ago. Anyway ill let you guys have your fun!

Watson didn't drop shit. He caught and had it ripped out of his hands. Moss had the pass thrown too hard at him and it skipped off his hand. A drop usually means when the ball hits both hands and the hands can't secure the catch.
I hope your team goes 16-0 and loses their first playoff game.

Wrong he caught it and knocked it out with his knee when he hit the ground. You are thinking of a diff play. Although he should have had that one two. Ray got it though.
Moss dropped a ball right in his hands. Perfect throw, thats what jaws said anyway. Wind was a huge factor tonight.
Great game by the ravens no doubt.
I dont care about 16 -0 , just happy to be in the playoffs with a chance to win a sb.

to me it looked like it was juggled from left to right hand. I would say not a TD but according to the rules i guess it was.
BTW the ravens lost the game ...the pats didnt win it

It was an attack on your character ;)
Your posts have been making me laugh tonight. Haha another gem.
-
I think it would be great if the Pats lost only 2 games this year.both to the Gmen ;)
-
The way NE's played the last few weeks it's clear to me that fatigue in maintaining the string's now part of the equation. A loss or two around this time would probably improve their playoff odds.
On the other hand, the week's rest before the playoffs might be enough to restore the edge if they're still undefeated then.
-
Lots of bitterness in this thread. ;D

very true, the throwing of the flag didnt affect the outcome of the game. the horrible calls did. there is no way people can say the ball wasnt bobbled, watch the replay and you'll see he didnt have control. also the pass interference call in the end zone was very questionable, in every play a receiver is touched going down the field to some extent if your going to call that then they should have called pass interference on the hail mary for christs sake.
bad calls ruin the chance for a great game no matter what the outcome, wether the Pats win or the Raven win, the fact that all the talk surrounds the refs is unfair. the refs shouldnt help the Pats make plays.
by the way im listening to Mike and Mike in the morning ESPN and they both say they didnt think Gaffney had control.
but oh well it certainly was an entertaining game to watch.
Matt Light just had a bad game, other than this game he is really good.
-
also regarding the Rex Ryan time out, arent time outs only allowed to be called by the head coach or a player on the field?? im pretty sure thats a rule.
-
The headcoach can call time outs, they changed the rule a few years ago. Its a grey area where they allow the D or O cood's to do so. Some crews allow it some don't. The bobgble was questionable but it was first and goal and they would have had 3 more chances, so who knows. I rewatched parts of the game today. Welker and Moss were mugged the whole game. The holding call was an easy one to make, but one they had not been making all game. If any of u guys watched what the Pats did during the 03-04 runs..this game was similar to many of those. Close but in the end..the other team does something done and Tom Brady makes them pay. I was happy to see Mauroney in space make plays....Body keep the shit talkers honest, I'm off to Japan for 10 days.
-
The Ravens gave this game away. Reed's fumble before the half, which would have put them in FG range and Boeller's throw into quadruple coverage for a pick and the hold on Rolle were huge mistakes. They imploded in the fourth quarter. You can blame the refs but the Pats receivers were mauled all night, and the offensive interference on the Hail Mary wasn't called. The Ravens have no one to blame but themselves, they should have won.
-
What about the timeout.... If they would've had one left they could've won the game but they called it when they stopped Brady..
The timeout is what really was the straw that broke the camels back.
-

Receivers are allowed to be touched within five yards of the los. Outside that chuck zone you cannot blatently hamper a receivers ability to run his route. On that fourth down play the ravens defenders where HANGING off Watson, clearly not allowing him to run his route. Reed had his freaking arm wrapped around Watsons chest. Well outside the five yard cushion given. They are going to call that if you are stupid enough to do it on the play that decides the game. Duh they are watching closley then.
Why would you call pass int on the hail Mary at the end? Rolle was holding Asante Samuel down by the facemask so he could not make a play for the ball. The ravens where holding ALL day. Honestly they have nothing to complain about. they where allowed to be ultra physical all day. Welker was being held on every single play. The pats where flagged for a all this crap in the afccg last year.
Honestly the haters have reached monumental levels. The pats are not going to win every single game by 4000 points. Every team in the NFL throws there best at them because they are undefeated. Its not easy to get up for every single game all year long. The ravens played them tough , get over it. Maybe if the ravens could show up like that all year they woulden't suck.
Here is the current greatest team ever's record. The 85 bears. A lot of close wins in there. Including a loss. Five close games including a loss to a bad phins team. The greatest team ever.
Keep in mind there where less games , no salery cap , no free agency, and less teams. Far easier to "run the table" then. Look at the 72 phins. They played ONE team with a winning record.
85 bears
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | W | 38-28 | Horrible team
| 2 | New England Patriots | W | 20- 7 |
| 3 | at Minnesota Vikings | W | 33-24 |
| 4 | Washington Redskins | W | 45-10 |
| 5 | at Tampa Bay Buccaneers | W | 27-19 Horrible team

The '72 Dolphins beat only 2 teams over .500, and had a narrow victory or two.
No one cares now other than sour-grapes Shula and some of those Dolphins.

ESPN football earns record ratings
Game drew a total of 17.5 million viewers
More people watched the New England Patriots squeeze past the Baltimore Ravens on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" than viewed any other program in the history of cable TV.
Game drew a total aud of 17.5 million viewers, besting the previous record of 17.2 million set in August by Disney Channel's "High School Musical 2."
The Patriots are undefeated and could end up as the second NFL team ever to go through an entire season without a loss (the Miami Dolphins did it in 1972).
ESPN's Monday cablecast of the Patriots-Ravens bout finished first for the night among programs on all broadcast and cable nets in total viewers and in all of the key adult demographics.
Eleven of the 12 most-watched shows on cable TV in 2007 are "Monday Night Football" games on ESPN. In November, the cabler parlayed "MNF" into a victory for the entire month in primetime, winding up a strong No. 1 among all ad-supported cable nets in total viewers, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34.

I would trade 16- 0 in for another superbowl any day of the week.
-
If the Colts and Cowboys play NE in the playoffs, they should both be good games now that both teams have seen them, with the Cowboys improved. Shouldn't be that easy for NE, making for potentially better games.
-

I agree. Both tough teams. I think Dallas vs NE would be a awesome game. Or Dallas vs Indy (talking about superbowl)

You do realize that NE can NOT play Dallas in the playoffs... being in 2 different division nixes that. The next time NE can see Dallas is in the Superbowl.

I was talking about the superbowl. Hence me saying Dallas vs NE or Indy vs Dallas. I took what pumpster said as Indy in the playoffs, and Dallas in the sb. In conclusion I knew what he was trying to say even though he did not word it correctly
If you look at the original post above pumps reply I was talking about the sb all along :)

you still on this??? ok, but as far as the PI no call on the hail mary i was refering to offensive PI.
as for your theory that the Raven were holding the Pats recievers the entire game the refs didnt think so. if the Ravens were holding, they would have called holding. the fact that the refs decide when a holding call is important enough to call is where i have a problem. Tom Brady in his post game interview said himself there were some "questionable calls". but really this game was four days ago....
and comparing the 85 Bears or the 72 Dolphins to a team playing in the 21 century is rediculous, no offense. the rules were vastly different then as opposed to now, the game didnt favor the offense as much as it does today. the rules today take into consideration the health of the player also, not so much in 72.
-
Your post sums up my argument nicley. I say the ravens got away with mugging people all game. You say if there was holding the refs woulf have called it. Yet when the refs call a clear foul its out of line and changing the game. So which is it?
You question why the refs would not call offensive pi on the hail mary play , yet you say if the ravens where mugging guys, it would have been called. You called the play questionable in your post. So I post the video proving otherwise. A guy riding another player with his arm wrapped around a players chest 10 yards out of the chuck zone is text book pi.
You then said the ball was bobbled by Gaffney. So I post the video. The ball was never bobbled. The question was if Gaffney bringing the ball into to his body in a natural motion was control. The refs who you said would have made the holding calls on the ravens if there where any thought so. The video clearly shows Gaffney with all ten fingers on the ball at all times. There was no bobble. You where very confident if there was holding going on against the pats wr's the refs would make that call , yet when they make a call that does not favor the ravens its bullshit. I see.
The 85 bears having 5 close games and one loss is "different" because the times where different? Guess what, it was easier to do what the pats are doing then. You said the game is slanted towards offense now. So what? it was slanted towards defense then. Letting teams with superior defensive units thrive. Same shit different century. But now you have free agency , a salery cap, replay , more teams, and more games. More parity. Its harder now.
The tactic the ravens used is nothing new. Look at the patriots ala 2001 vs the rams. The blueprint is nothing new.

Supreme hair-splitting; the NFL has brainwashed you. In reality it's still the playoffs to most people. ;) ;) ;)
I hope you don't fall for the same thing at starbucks, actually using those dumb names in lieu of small, medium and large. ;D

Your post sums up my argument Nickey. The ravens got away with mugging people all game , you say if there was holding the refs would have called it, yet when the refs call a clear foul its out of line and changing the game.
You say the refs are making the right calls the whole game , yet when they make a clear cut call that screws the ravens, they are changing the game and slanting things for the pats. It couldn't be that the ravens got away with holding until it was so redic the refs said enough is enough. You get some lee way to a point. You start abusing it, you are going to get flagged. You question why the refs would not call offensive pi on the hail mary play , yet say if the ravens where mugging guys it would have been called.
I just showed you clear cut video evidence that the hold that was called was infact a hold. But now its different.
The 85 bears having 5 close games and one loss is "different" because the times where different? Guess what, it was easier to do what the pats are doing then.
The tactic the ravens used is nothing new. Look at the patriots ala 2001 vs the rams. The blueprint is nothing new.
reread my post, i said the opposite. if there was holding the entire game like you say the refs should have called it the entire game, not just in the endzone at the end of the game. My opinion would be the same if the regardless if it were the Pats or the Ravens..or the Fins for that matter. and if the holding by the Ravens was sooo blatantly ridiculous the league would certainly look into it. currently i dont think an investigation is pending.
and who says you get some "lee way to a point"? as far as i know a penalty is a penalty no matter if its the first time of the third.
and what does this mean? " Guess what, it was easier to do what the pats are doing then."

You seem to be walking the line. You say if there was holding all game the refs should have called it. But when there is blatant hold you equate that to the refs cherry picking calls to favor one team. You say a penalty is a penalty yet call a blatant penalty questionable? The refs did call penalties on the ravens during the game. What you are are really saying is the refs called the game fair until a call went against the ravens that added to them losing the game , then its slanted. If that Gaffney td went the ravens way I doubt you would say a thing about it. You also said the NFL would look into holding if it was going on. Yet there is no "investigation" on the question's you brought up. In fact I posted a video from the NFL showing why the penalty's where called. On the pats side if there was holding going on there would be an investigation , yet there is no investigation into the calls you questioned? So you trust the league only when it favors the opponent you are saying got screwed?
You act as if my claims of there being holding are laughable because if it happened the refs would have called it. They made several calls vs the ravens. Yet when they call a hold when the games on the line, a clear hold , you say its unfair officiating.
Leeway is easy to understand. Different crews let teams "play" different ways. Just let them play is the saying. But when the team starts getting out of line they start calling them on it. You cant armbar a receiver on his route and ride him down and expect to have it let go. There is a difference between letting db's be a little physical , and plain old holding people all over the place.
What the pats are doing now is HARDER then what the bears did. They are trying to go undefeated in a league with much more parody, free agency, a salary cap , and instant replay. The slant towards Offense you claim is no different then the slant towards defense back in the day. The pats just got a explosive offense. I didn't see any talk of the pats being screwed last year in the afccg when they got called for things like facegaurding. Where the pats at a dissadvantage last year to the colts since they didn't have good wr's? Facegaurding is not even a NFl rule anymore. The difference is it is harder to build a winner year in and year out now in days.
The pats blow people out, they are running up the score. The pats win close games, they are no good. The league comes down on the pats they are getting what is coming to them. The pats win a game on the leagues rules and the league is helping them. People want nothing more then the pats to lose. Thats why pats fans are defensive. Anything to discredit anything they do.

Do you consider the World Series the Playoffs?
I don't think I'm brainwashed... I see it as two separate things. That's just me.
I'll split hairs if I wanna. :D

you need to take a step back and read my posts objectively, not from a Pats fans point of view. you continually fail to see the forrest from the trees my friend....

Fanatic- A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause.
best of luck against the Steelers

Split hairs = your opinion actually.
Which is certainly your prerogative.

I didnt think you could refute anything in that post : ) You called calls questionable in your original post , then defended the refs when speaking about things the ravens did. Thats called flip flopping my friend.

When the New England Patriots improved to 12-0 with a close victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, both teams took issue with the officiating. Apparently the head of the NFL referees thought everything was fine.
NFL senior vice president of officiating Mike Pereira said Thursday that all of the calls that generated controversy were made correctly. Pereira also touched on the topic of Baltimore cornerback Samari Rolle's accusation that head linesman Phil McKinnely repeatedly called him "boy."
Pereira said McKinnely's "interpretation" of the situation differed from Rolle's. He added that he found no fault in how McKinnely handled the controversy.
"Phil, in my mind, acted as he should," Pereira told the NFL Network. "We'd like to walk away, but there is a point where it's very difficult to do that."
After the game, New England quarterback Tom Brady pointed out that there were "a lot of questionable calls and we made some plays" to win the game.
Baltimore running back Willis McGahee echoed Brady's sentiments Sunday.
"The loss takes away everything. We played our hearts out tonight. We got some bogus calls," McGahee said.
Baltimore cornerback Chris McAlister had some harsher words about the referees, specifically the late holding call on rookie safety Jamaine Winborne.
"It's hard to go out there and play the Patriots and the refs at the same time," McAlister said. "They put the crown on top of them, they want them to win. They won."
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Its impossible to refute something someone says when they have blinders on, you my friend are a fanatic. like you said they gave the players "lee way" which is wrong, a penalty is a penalty a late hit is always a late hit etc..
your inabliltiy to read and comprehend hopefully ends with things concerning the Pats, if not best of luck in the future. again good luck with the Steelers, its gonna be a good game..

Thats not what I said at all. The "leeway" comment had nothing to do with my original comment. That was a response to a comment you made. I believe it was "if the holding was soooo bad" the NFL would get involved.
In which I made a few points, then let you know how different crews enforce the rules on the books to different degrees If you don't think diff ref crews call the rules in different ways you are the one with the blinders. That said that comment had nothing to do with my original point or post.
You are cherry different responses and points in my post and taking them out of context to try to paint me as a fanatic who wont listen to reason, wronggg. I am making my argument and voicing my opinion. Because at the end of the days thats all this is.
I called you out on your flip flopping , thats all.
Anyway thanks for the good luck wishes. Either way I am not worried my friend. Pats have homefield and the division all locked up. Great chance to win a 4th sb in the last 7 years.
I leave the hype up to the media and rival fans ;)

and i would certainly take your "flip flopping" accusation seriously if it came from a reliable source. ive been consistant with my statements and aside from dangling keys in front of you to get you too see out side your box there is nothing else that can be done to help with your comprehension.

Thats my general point, he tends to read what he wants to in regards to peoples posts and cant make objective statements, but yes he is a nice guy from what i have experienced, just have to take it for what its worth. he is a hell of a fan though and knows his pats.

As much as you guys say I don't see things in a objective light, I think you would understand where I was coming from more if you lived here, and followed the pats from where it all takes place/
That said the national media paints a picture that in a lot of ways is totally void of how things really are.
Anyway here's to a great game sunday.
Btw you guys are great posters and non of this is meant to be taken personally ;)
