If there were no time between posts, people could make entire pages of the same pic or phrase in seconds (effectively ruining a thread)

It usually only happens to gimmicks, which are a huge problem on this website.

no it gives you time to do a set of curls between posts, it's one of the weider principles............ you could look it up...
