Thyroid Problems
« on: June 20, 2007, 08:53:09 PM »
Hey guys, and gals,

I was wondering something.  I got some tests done at the doc this week, and they came back with a under active thyroid.  Is there any way I can boost my thyroid without drugs just supplementation?  or do I have to look at getting the drugs?

thanks

well what did your doctor say?

the drugs should be the last resort.  i know a couple of who need to be on thyroid meds forever.  most likely because they abused cytomel.

as far as i know any type of over the counter supp that claims to boost thyroid function would be a waste of money.

i would just focus on making sure that your diet is on point.

if your eating a well balanced diet, dont skip meals, cut sugar, drink plenty of water, along with a steady training program it may make a difference.

Get your adrenals checked...if the thyroid is having problems, it's always affected by your adrenals.
Use saliva testing...which are more accurate than most blood tests.
