Whats the most gratuitous display of violence, sports and/or sex you have actually enjoyed?

I would have to go with "The Rock" starring Cage/Connery

Am I allowed to answer seeing I am a man?

Last of the Mohicans!
It hasn't helped...

Hmmmm, it didnt really have much violence or sports, so I can't help but to question your definition of "gratuitous sex" ?

I'm not getting why the flicks posted here so far are considered man movies specifically?  :-\  I would think a man movie would be more something like Philadelphia Story or Leaving Las Vegas since they dealt with men's issues.

But in keeping with the spirit of the thread I would say Resevoir Dogs, Raging Bull, Braveheart, Rob Roy were up there.

True Deedee...

How bout Deliverance.  Amazing movie that def. deals with men's issuse.

What category does Preditor, Batman, all Terminators, and all the Rocky's fall?  I know if they are on tv at my house...Bob will watch them.  Drives me nuts!

I was shooting for the Spike TV / "movies for guys who like movies" type genre with this thread, as Proschic mentioned Arnold movies are a good start.

In terms of the way you define man movies, I would say American Beauty, The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, The Thin Red Line spring to mind :)

Didn't think about it at all, but Deliverance must be the best example ever! American Beauty, The Thin Red Line, etc... are also good examples. Probably all the other war flicks count too, like Full Metal Jacket, Born on the Fourth of July, etc. Also, Spike Lee movies like Mo Better Blues, and Jungle Fever.  Swimming With Sharks, Fight Club, Boiler Room...

Flicks I've been most ashamed of watching include any Rocky flick, and most importantly, anything with Chuck Norris.  :P

Oh yea...I forgot Full Metal Jacket!! Thats one of my favs!!

I'm ashamed of any flicks with Steven Segal, he has lost his appeal.  But Chuck Norris is pretty high on the list as well.

Thats one of Bob's fav's as well.  He is a HUGE classic car fan...the cars in that movie are amazing!
Plus, seeing all of the well-known actors as young kids is cool too.

I would like to know another review on the "motorcycle diaries"...if anyone here has seen it.  Its a guy flick...but more of a drama.  Its an indie film, which I know that most guys aren't in to.

has anyone else seen it?

i will have to get him the soundtrack.  i didn't know it was around.

bob loves the twilight zone ('59-'65), because of the cars as well.  Its such a time warp watching these shows...with the dress, conversation, and of course the cars.  so, i'm on the hunt for box set.

With the exception of the Deer Hunter and a few others, I like war movies.  Not for the violence but I have always found men in uniform to be sexy, part of which is the nature of their job, to go in harm's way.  I find them courageous and I like the human aspect between brothers in arms.

There is a "old" version to Gone in 60 Sec???  Thats MY ultimate FAV movie!!  Simply because of Elenor. I hate that the Shelby has become such of a popular thing with anyone with some money!!  They cant appreciate the shelby like the muscle car lovers can!!  It just looks good to them, but to us....it is more of a gem.  Bob loves the classics...I am a 100% muscle car girl.  I could talk cars all day!!! (so don't get me started)

oh man...Bob would freak over the regal!  His 86 Grand National was stolen in Feb.  He is still not over that yet!  We recieved a "reciept" from a los angeles towing company telling us that the car was found with NO ENGINE, and the body was "unrecognizable".  We could pick it up or release it to them...I told Bob to just leave well enough alone.  I didn't want him to see his car in that condition.  He was attached to it!!  He has since bought a 51 old rocket 88, a 58 buick special, and a 65 t-bird with the landau top.

I was, unfortunatly, forced to sell my 00 mustang for the new mommy car. ( i cant complain, i got a 07 lexus) but damn i miss the low profile, fast stang!!

my dad collects the olds 442 w30...he has 3.  but they are all show cars...he doesnt drive them too much.  One day...they will be MINE!!!!

Sorry to hear Bob's car was stolen.

A guy I used to work for had an opportunity to buy an 87 Grand National.  I talked him into buying it as I knew I'd get to drive it occasionally.  What a blast that thing was!  I'm laughing just thinking of how stupid we were in it, squealing around town.
