Thought this picture was amazing as a young teenager and now as a senior citizen I still find it amazing. Art Harris when he was on leave from the military in the 50's was riding a bus in NYC. He sat near the front and the bus driver wouldn't move the bus until he sat in the rear of the bus. He was in his uniform. Art Harris broke his jaw and was put in prison by the military for six months. The picture is still shocking to me. Imagine looking like that is the 1950's. He also was a high level boxer. He could never win the big ones in the AAU because Hoffman who ran it hated black bodybuilders according to many accounts though he was light years ahead of the winners.
