I’ve seen his videos.. and many pics. Never used more than 315 on squats. He trained his pecs heavier than his legs.

If you do squats last after every other exercise anyone would struggle with 315, if they didnt then they weren't trying earlier..

Back in the early 1980s, there was this Japanese guy who had tremendous quads. All he would do was high reps on front squat with 135. He would do fifty reps for three sets starting out with a couple of warm-up sets with 115. No leg extensions or anything. Just front squats for his quads.

Ha - That’s how I train my legs - depending on what I’ve done before getting to
Squats - it Vary’s from 275lbs to 400lbs I end up with & whatever the weight
It feels heavy if I’ve trained hard enough. Damn sometimes even 220lbs
Is feeling Heavy.

Wilf Sylvester won the Universe doing body weight squats, leg extensions and leg curls. He use to do the usual barbell squats, hacks, leg extensions, and leg curls.  For his short man win in 1975 he did 400 reps with no weight. He said it cut up and pumped his thighs.

Was the Japanese guy a known name?  I'd like to see a picture.  I just watched a video of Jay Cutler working thighs. He's still huge at 250lbs. Of course nothing like he was when he was competing. The highest he went with barbell squats was 205 lbs.

I don't know, if you said 400 or 450 I could agree....

315 is pretty light when your athletic and jimmied up to the max.....

That said some guys just have great legs and could manage with 315, but you can't generalise these things everyone gotta do what they gotta do.
