Paul's back would probably suck regardless, but yeah: he was entirely too lazy to do what was needed to improve his back. That's part of the reason why I never "got" the whole mystique about Charles Glass. What good is a trainer who doesn't improve his charge one iota over the course of many years?

Of course, saying those things on the old Mayhem forums was sacrilege

This is what will happen when a competitor does stupidly and repeatedly heavy deadlifts and heavy rows.
(just because everybody should be a warrior in the gym?)

Ultimately, the smartest guy when its comes to safe training is certainlly Phil Heath who had the most complete back.

Phil Heath did deadlifts and heavy rows. As did Mike Quinn, Dorian Yates, Franco Columbu, Johnnie Jackson, Mike Francois, and Lee Haney

Most of them did. Here's Dave Draper deadlifting. Remember when Lou Ferrigno won the car deadlift in the World's strongest man. He beat all the powerlifters.
