Agreed.  I never understood how he placed so high.  He had great calves, sliced quads and good back thickness, but his arms were rubbish, his pecs were droopy, he was narrow and just looked frail opposite many of his contemporaries.  He was a poor man's Makkawy (SP?).

I like variants of Heavy Duty training, much moreso than the average Getbigger :)  That said, while I think a downsized Arnold easily won the 1980 Olympia, Dickersuckson didn't deserve second place.  Maybe Mike didn't either, but Mike probably deserved a placing ahead of Curious George and a skinny Frank Zane.

He actually looks pretty good here. Chest is full. No torn muscles. His biceps were always small but his triceps and forearms were big. His legs and back were good for tge era.

Still dont know how he placed so well in 81 and 82? He must've had strong connections too.

He never got bent out of shape about his placings, but god forbid if you ever tried to kidnap his daughter and sell her in the sex trade to some rich oil sheik, he will find you and he will kill you

Arnold was the winner even though not at his best, Still good enough to win.
2nd 3rd 4th places id of placed Walker / calender/ mentzer from what pics I've seen
Certainly Not pointy elbows/ torn biceps/ droopy pecs Chimp man chris & Frank was just to slender
Great on his own , lost in amongst the others.
