Sorry, Gym-Rat, but this topic reminds me of somewhat related lifetime shit ...
I once sailed on a civilian ship from Hawaii to California .... and the propeller fell off.
And I once sailed on a military ship and the propeller stayed on, but we hit a submarine and to this day I still don'r know how we remained afloat.
And I once flew on a military cargo aircraft (C-47???) with a tank all strapped down until we took a sharp dive to avoid incoming fire. I was airborne a couple of seconds and the tank gave a threatening moan, but we managed to land successfully.
The tank survived without a mishap, but my stomach and its contents did not..
And to continue ...... a civilian flight I was on had a mishap while taking off but managed to stop before the start of the SF Bay and the 'doors' flew open and rubber slides blew out immediately to get the passengers off the aircraft. before it exploded or something.
An old lady on the seat next to me panicked and I had to give her a shove down the slide so that others could follow.
She broke her wrist but thanked me anyway while the airlines treated us to a cup of coffee until a reliable aircraft could attempt to get us off the ground once again.
Many passengers cancelled their trip to Hawaii that day.
And ..... I once was scheduled on a flight to Hawaii but that flight was cancelled due to some adverse weather problem so we were put up overnight in some airport hotel until early next morning when we were told that it would be a rough flight due to continuing adverse weather conditions along the route somewhat similar to a hurricane.
Approximately 12 brave souls said. "What the hell!" and got aboard a 747 for the roller coaster ride of a lifetime.
Half way to Paradise and the pilot says, "We're turning back!:", but it just got worse.!
I don't like roller coaster rides no more!
And then one day off the coast of Vadoglosko (I can't spell it but it's on the coast of Russia) ........ More true shit to follow if if there is any interest.
