I went on holiday in June, 5th-12th. By second last day you are already saying "last time we'll do this blah blah blah". Last day you are consumed with flight arrangements. 1-2 days after back feels like you were never away. 1 month later feels like a distant memory. 3 months on in September I'm already seeing we have only 13 hours daytime and I'm consigned to a shitty rainy winter. Fuck.

Least you can play in snow, we just get moderately cold and wet weather - if depression could be weather it would be what we get. Dreary, wet, cold, grey shitty weather. Boring.

I agree the faded memories makes me wonder whether it is worth the expense to even go, when most of it will be forgotten anyway, but I really don't feel like going home at this point

You have to go. The dream is get to the point where you can come and go on vacation when you want. My dad is there now, has been for ages but forced himself to work and take on too many responsibilities. Three or four holidays a year, weekends away when he wants - he deserves it. People spend way more money so someone will change their nappies and feed them sleeping tablets as incontinent 90 year olds than they do on living it up while they have faculties. What a waste.
