Your 2 Euro coin looks alot like our Canadian $2 coin. Silver on the outside, gold in the middle.

I've heard about the obscene Euro graphics before, but never could find any on the bills. Now we know.

I think that because you posted a pic of what women love to see and think is SO HOT as opposed to what many men think is hot and post down on the sex board (need I say more?  :-X).  This makes me think that you do okay with the girls in your country.   :)  Sorry, for some reason I thought you lived in the Netherlands... but I do remember you saying something about Belgium a long time ago.

Bruxelles?  If so, have been to your beautiful city... stayed at the Conrad on Avenue Louise (?) and is the second-most amazing place have stayed at.  (Even the gym was great!) I remember the excellent shopping and the trolley cars and walking down a steep hill past the parliament building... getting lost somewhere in an amusement park where most of the people had missing teeth... then walking the gauntlet through a Muslim area... good times.  ;D  The Grand Place was pretty and I had a great dinner at Le Quincaillerie... with great wine.  ;)  Three of my girlfriends are Flemish... didn't realize it until I went to Brussels, but every single Flemish person looks like them... and that's a compliment! So are you French or Flemish?  Did I remember the city well?

Iridology:   the study of the iris of the eye.

Iri and iris come from the Greek name of the goddess of the rainbow, Iris. The Greeks noted eyes come in many, many colors. And ology also comes from the Greek, meaning study of. Literally translated, iridology means the study of the coloration of the eye.

The iris reveals changing conditions of every part and organ of the body. Every organ and part of the body is represented in the iris in a well defined area. In addition, through various marks, signs, and discoloration in the iris, nature reveals inherited weaknesses and strengths.

By means of this art / science, an iridologist (one who studies the coloration and fiber structure of the eye) can tell an individual his/her inherited and acquired tendencies towards health and disease, his current condition in general, and the state of every organ in particular.

Iridology cannot detect a specific disease, but, can tell an individual if they have over or under activity in specific areas of the body.

I think so.

A double entendre is a figure of speech similar to the pun, in which a spoken phrase can be understood in either of two ways. The first, literal meaning is an innocent one, while the second meaning is often ironic or risqué and requires the hearer to have some additional knowledge. Although an expression made of French words, it is not correct modern French; the French use the term double sens ("double sense [or meaning]") for such phrases.

Lol, no I think for that a single tail or buggy whip with a really long handle is better.  That way you can recline comfortably on the couch and watch "Days of Our Lives" while directing the housework.  :P

Yes, I know.  :'(

That's why you have three forkfulls, then direct the plate at the biggest person at the table. This usually works for me. In fact, large people often like sitting next to me in restaurants. Also a good strategy for cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and triple decker pancakes.  :)

Are you by any chance a large person?  ;D

Good to hear you have abs.  I know that unlike the Germans,  ;)  the other Europeans tend to be in pretty good shape as a whole.

I hear what you're saying about tempting large people... however, I think people have to make their own decisions, and the more you try to point out to someone that they're overweight, the more they wallow and eat.

Btw... am impressed  you mentioned Nick Cave on the sad songs thread. EVERYTHING he does is sad. Love his voice.

Well... Depends how you look at it. Number of fat people is lower than in USA. But don't expect many really good physiques either. Overall, they take better care of themselves i think.

I don't judge anybody. But i can't stand people (e.g. my mom) who complain about being overweight, or are unhappy about. It's not like you got fat in a couple of months, so it'll take some time to get the fat off, but it's not THAT hard either.

Check this out. A portuguese girl explained the term "saudade" to me. It fits to what i sometimes feel. Kind of weird that nick cave also has it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudade

In his book In Portugal of 1912, A.F.G Bell writes:
"The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness."

"The Good Son, a 1990 album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was heavily informed by Cave's mental state at the time, which he has described as saudade. He told journalist Chris Bohn that "when I explained to someone that what I wanted to write about was the memory of things that I thought were lost for me, I was told that the Portuguese word for this feeling was "saudade". It's not nostalgia but something sadder."

Cool clip with nick cave:

 :)

I do know what "saudade" means... but I guess it's hard to put into words, although that explanation is a good one.  I think some people feel depths of emotions more than others, but maybe that's unfair.

I used to travel a lot to Portugal for work (it was cheap  ;D) so spent time in Lisboa, Sintra, and Caiscais and fell in love with Fado, which I believe is the musical expression of saudade? Have you been?  Not so far from Belgium. Those Fado girls are amazing... they go from Fado place to place all night long, and some of those voices are just beyond beautiful, especially when you listen to them up close in those small, dark restos. Someone also told me the Portuguese enveloped themselves in this sadness/longing, as a result of so many man lost at sea... the women used to wait by the shore, pining for their beloveds.

I couldn't really find anything overwhelmingly sad and beautiful... but here's a decent clip...

And thanks for reminding me of Nick Cave... I haven't listened to him in awhile.  :-*

Yeah, it's probably impossible to put it into words exactly. What do you mean by "unfair"?

I've been to Portugal, but it's a long time ago, i was still a kid. I don't remember that much from it. I want to go back this summer. I was thinking about going to Lisboa, i also want to check out Porto (the city, not the drink), and maybe the algarve area. For some reason i've gotten along with all the portuguese people i've met. Quite strange.

Can't wait till its summer again.
