He just said last week he wants a black woman police commissioner. No, not the best qualified candidate he can find. She has to be a black woman. He needs a district attorney who will prosecute criminals instead of instantly dropping charges and releasing the same day.  No cop wants to put them self out on the line to find their arrest is out on the street with the charges dropped before he has a chance to write the reports. The overwhelming amount of cops in NY and NJ are conservative Republicans but there are a segment of the fringe leftists. He's one of them.

It’s actually gotten better recently. During Covid there were a lot of big construction projects going on. I suspect big money real estate sat a lot of these asshole politicians down and read them the riot act and threatened to cut off funding.
