Big Z = The GOAT
« on: September 16, 2020, 03:38:30 AM »
Came out of semi-retirement recently and won "World Strongman Cup - Lithuania 2020".
Another piece of hardware to add to his already 300+.

Not sure if he would damage his health and go back up in weight to compete w/ all the young up and comers, but having fun and cleaning up on local shows looks like he's enjoying himself.
Would like to see him try to break his own log-press record though, someone will do it soon. (Hicks, Biby, Luke, Kearney, etc).
Big Z broke his own record 5 years ago (228 kg) before that I think he held it for 10 years prior to the 2015 record lift. Amazing record and IMO the king of the lifts. (Not the DL).

From floor, to furtherst point away (overhead) using all limbs extended. (Sorry Eddie).

------

"Today I won Lithuanian Strongest Man 🇱🇹 It's my 16th victory at national championship. First time I won Lithuanian Strongest Man 1998, I competed 19 times. 16 first places, 2 second places and 1 third place".

I like to watch his youtube channel.  He's the all-time best strongman.

He's dropped a lot of weight.  I've always thought he was one of the best, but there are just a few events he just doesn't do well in.

I tend to agree the clean and press is a better test of overall body strength, but the deadlift is just raw power.  It's amazing how easy he overhead presses weights that other men can't even budge.

It's great that he is just out having fun instead of killing himself trying to win WSM again, but you know the other competitors are put off a bit when they see him showing up for a local show.  ;D

His longevity and number of titles probably wont be matched. The 8 "Arnolds" is ridiculous:

World's Strongest Man – 1st place four times: 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014
World's Strongest Man – 2nd place six times: 2002-4, 2011, 2013, 2015
IFSA Strongman World Championships - 1st place two times: 2005, 2006
Arnold Strongman Classic – 1st place eight times: 2016, 2014, 2003-2008

Pretty amazing, the Arnold Classic is no easy feat.  The fact that he competed so long is incredible.

How many powerlifters are in Lithuania?

One of the strength worlds all-time greats.

He’s truly spectacular.
