Fuck that was brutal! :'(...a lot harder then I thought it would be!
first mile and a half was a run{walk,crawl,stop and rest...}straight up a mountain.
no not a hill,a mountain.it was at Windham Mt. in NY a ski resort.
honestly more then once I wanted to quit :-\ I saw people getting rides back down in quads less the half way up cuz they gave up,saw a girl crying, and a couple people puking on the sides of the trail.
my lower back,and leg was killing me and I got a nice killer cramp.
after half way it evened out and started back down the Mt...there were rope walls to climb,mud pits under barbed wire to crawl through,mud slides and other obstacles.
it took me one hour and five minutes :-\
i'll post up some pics when they are online
...can't wait to do another in Sept ;D

LOL I did one here in Houston, I thought it was pretty shitty to be honest.
There was way to much running and not enough obstacles and the obstacles they did have were so easy it wasnt even funny.

Charge a $20 entry fee and let the fun begin! Yeeee-haaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!

Did it in 38 min...first 1/2-3/4 mile was just running.then you had to run through tires{like in football training}then over a smashed up car,more tires then another car,more running then through tires hanging down on rope so you get bounced around.then under and around different size fences with barbwire wrapped around them,a wall climb with rope to help,incline wall climb with rope,cargo net climb,then a sidways wall climb over water just using little hand grips and toe holds{my friend said she saw a girl slip and fall into the water below and break either her leg or ankle},run through trails in the woods,then a walk,crawl,slip through some serious mud and water,a walk over a rope bridge then back,to back,to back wall climbs,a crawl through the mud while going under barbwire...then finish!
...damn it was fun and a lot easier then the last one I did 8)

Mon: Usual box squats 10 sets x 2, ended with a max rep / towel pullups (these are hard). I cannont do ANY press movements now because of shoulder.
Tues: 3 mile run, finished with hill sprint.
Need to run alot and work on grip.

Don't know,i'll get an email in a few days with my time.
I'm sure not in top runners.they send out groups of people every half hour from 8am until 5pm.
all the weirdos that take it serious{ahem,cough,cough,soul cruncher}are the first in line in the first heat.
...I was passing people as I ran but got slowed down at a couple of obstacles.nothing like waiting to climb a wall but waiting cuz a fat chick that started a half hour before coudn't get her lard ass over.
plus I was a head of my friends so I slowed down a couple of times so they could get closer.

Shit how things have changed. 7 months AFTER that post, I had recovered from first shoulder surgery and started training for that mudder. Tried to run a 5k.....had to stop 8 times, breathing fire.....took me 33 minutes to run the thing.....fast forward to last month:
1 mile run @ 6:37
2 mile ruck @ 21:10
Kept ruck on:
40 second plank
1/8 mile ruck carrying 80 lb sandbag
10 x bleacher stair climbs
1/8 mile ruck w/sandbag
10 push up
50 yard bear crawl, non stop
80 flutter kicks
1 mile ruck @ 10:45
1/8 mile ruck w/sandbag
10 push up
1/8 mile ruck w/sand bag
No ruck
5 x 50yrd sprints, walk back
50 yrd bear crawl
20 sec plank
1 mile run @ 6:57
So yeah, things have changed.......a bit.

I was given a go pro for Christmas two years ago.
I used it once, attached to a stick to look on my roof at ice dams.
My daughter used it when we went parasailing.
That's it.
I don't wear a helmet, and wouldn't want to have a camera on me.

Did the Savage Race PA back in June.
coolest part was a US vet that lost one leg from the knee down doing it with his service dog.
he was doing the rope swings and fell. he got up got back in line and then did them without falling.
the obstacle was near the start/finish line so everybody watching. when he did them the second time the place went fucking bezerk.
...talk about a the hair raising on your forearms 8) 8) 8)

Last TM I did, a group of 8 carried a guy in a wheelchair through the whole thing. Insane.
