you don't think you could hit 840 for a single? also...

http://www.ironscene.com/videos/47_vincent_dizenzo_800lb_deadlift

i was told that i could.. and that if i just dropped my damn hips like i did with the trap bar i'd pull well over 700 on the deadlift conventionally.

that could be mechanics. chances are when you trap bar pull your hands aren't in a place they COULD be with a straight bar. think about it, a trap bar lets you put your hands straight down to wherever the center of gravity is, but a bar has to be in front of your shins. if you're built such that the two spots coincide, you're golden. i sure as hell am not.  :-\

oh i know..but over 100lbs difference?  i tend to pull with the bar about 4-6" away from my body anyway. The trap bar is closer to your cetner of gravity, the weights are closer to your center mass, and teh handle placement and position are optimal for this movement.

exactly. the trap bar is REALLY perfect biomechanically for most people. i don't think it's really possible to put your body in the same position for a regular pull that you'd be in with a TB. you'd break your damn knees.

Very nice work! That was fast too. I think you are good for around 700 conventional. 705-715 maybe?

Now I have to go see what I can do. I hate that. Everytime someone does something like that I just gotta try it! ;D

I told you you stiff leg everything! Not a real shocker know that I know that why you cannot get your hips down.

DE bench (band rotation)

barx20x1
135x20x1
added monster minis
185x4x2 juggling comp and close grips

1 brd press

315x5x1
365x5x1
365x3x1 just throwing in an extra set in there to see if my strength is steady or if it's blow and go still at heavier weights.. seems to be coming along just fine. Struggled with the last rep on the first set of 365 but didn't need a rerack this time! Next week I move it up to sets of 6.

chins and face pulls

skipped the last leg workout..and struggled through yesterday's bench work. I started my diet monday.. was at 257 naked sunday evening and am sitting at 245.2 this am empty. I've also had the damn flu for the past week as well. not thrilled.. yesterdays' work was a big disappointment.. i kept gas'n early into the sets and kept having to reset over and over again. I coudln't lay off though.. i can't get behind. I need to kick this damn flu and start timing my carbs better. I'm limited to 100 a day atm and none after 7pm.. seems to be working well enough.

RE bench work

barx20x1
135x20x1
225x5x1
315x5x1
335x5x4
335x3x2
335x2x1

didn't meet my goal and every damn rep was hard but considering the circumstances i'm not too bummed..

I finished up with weighted chins and sled work for the shoulders and called it a day. I'm also not using results or my maximus during my diet. Only nitrean and ets and i know for a fact i'm going to have to save my carbs out to get the results in on lifting days.. there's no other options if i'm going to keep working and dieting up to the meet.

why are you dieting dude, do you want to be a bodybuilder or a powerlifter/strongman? doesn't make sense trying to do both.

i'm dieting to make the state record 242 push pull total.. then slowly creep my way back up to 260 with cleaner foods since i feel a little sloppy looking in the mirror.. dude i'm just trying to make weight..i dont' want a 6 pack or anything.

being sick can be enough. considering it's not hard to drop five pounds overnight once you're in the 250 area, 12 in five days isn't too difficult. if i'm not mistaken, brian siders lost damn near 30 pounds when he had the stomach flu leading up to a contest.

yeah i remember that.. as of right now i'm 243.  when i hit 240 i'm going to slowly add my carbs back in until i start to teeter on the edge again and play iwth it. apparenlty i've got the time to contest since i fucking made  242's after a big shit in 6 days lol. right now i'm enjoyin peanut butter toast.  ;D

past two days of kickassness!

DE bench

barx20x1
135x20x1
added monster minis
205x3x6 juggling grips

1brd foam press
315x5x1
365x5x1 SMOKED'em! SO ready for thursday and the max attempt at the 400's again! I found a way to keep results in a not throw me off my diet..

chins with 80lbs of chain
sled delt work

--------------------------------------------------

GPP/lower body

700lb tire flip x12
25lb sledge hammer work
8 plate sled for a few trips.. new shoes made that big of a fucking difference..but still hard as piss
GHR's with 50lbs of chain for a few sets

felt strong and SOLID.. feels liek the flu is outta my system..and i'm sitting good at 242.8... should be 240 by next week and make weight no problem by next month.

ME bench

barx20x1
135x20x1
225x3x1
315x3x1
365x1x1
405x1x1 GOOD TO BE BACK!
415xmissed... felt solid but collapsed at the bottom and lost it
365x2x1
315x6x1
225x6x1

6 sets of chins with 100lbs of chain
sled shoulder work

I REALLY need to work on keeping tight at the bottom if i'm ever going to progress. 405 felt fast through out and 415 felt solid as well but i ended up going flat tot he bench following it down instead of arching up into it. Either way.. hard work paid off and put me back at 400 again in a few months! Still got 6 weeks to go before hte meet too! STOKED!

man i need to start keeping up with this more...school and training and working two jobs is kicking my ass haha but i'm still at it!

monday's work was pretty squared as usual...

de bench

barx20x1
135x20x1
240x3x6 juggling grips

2 brd

315x6x1
365x6x1 pr! waiting to hit this consistantly before moving down to a 1 brd again..

chins

bwx30x1
bwx20x1
bwx6x1  wft!?!  :-\ >:(

---------------------------------------

ME dead single

135x10x1
315x3x1
500x3x1
585x1x1
675x1x1
705xmissed.. got it going but stopped just before my knees.. best part about today was that I got super low and now get my hips into it and 675 moved faster than it ever has with zero issue. I know i got my hips into it because my ass is killing me today when before all i ever felt it in was my lowerback which surprisingly, i feel nothing today!  gotta love form and technique work which is exactly what the trap bar was supposed to help me with!  Still not pulling 700 but happy with how 675 went with teh new form.

and my unofficial world record on the fbbc 2.5" crusher (bigger and heavier and faster spinning rolling thunder)

as of right now i think i'm good for 240ish on the RT.. i've pulled 220 right after doing the fbbc...trust me..if you think the RT is hard..that crusher will smoke your ass.

Glad to hear your getting your ass down on the DL's now. Maybe you'll crack 700 soon?

World class grip too! You HAVE to post you doing 240+ on the new RT if you do it again.
