Sometimes I just have to pinch myself!
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:17:32 PM »
As if life wasn't great enough already, I wake up this morning to find that Affliction has folded...lol!  The UFC is here to stay and dominate!  I can only hope that Fedor is wise enough to finally do a deal with the UFC, so that we can see some better match ups for him in the Octagon.

And, it looks like the UFC may be scraping the dreadful Franklin/Hendo rematch, and putting Tito in against Rich.  That, I would definitely be excited to see.

Good stuff!!

at this point, there's not a lot of good match ups I could imagine involving Tito....

but Franklin/Tito does kind of spark an interest..

I like Tito.  A healthy Tito vs. anyone at 205 would be be awesome.

Haha, seriously. Why would any MMA fan want to see that clown back in the ring?

I don't like Tito very much either, but he is still a decent fighter. He hung with Machida for three rounds and split a decision with Rashad and would have won if he hadn't had a point taken off for grabbing the fence.
He needs to prove how good he is again though...much like Fedor.

Putting Tito and Fedor in the same category is idiotic.

Exactly my point. Fedor needs to step it up if he want to remain #1.
He has already lost a ton of credibility fighting UFC rejects.
Fedor's ranking is based solely on fights that happened 4+ years ago.

If you look at Tito's record, it's really impressive.  Even his most recent fights.  And, consider that his primary weapon, vicious takedowns, was severely impaired by his back injuries.  If he is healthy again, we could see a strong Tito back in action.

Either way we know that Tito puts on good fights. He does build them up well.

I don't really agree with your assessment of Fedor, so I hardly see how I made your point.
Fedor is great and Tito stinks.  ;D

His record is impressive.  Win or lose, he hung in there with great fighters and has experience.

At least he could be a gate keeper
