I'm not sure what to think about it. I'll look for a trailer later. It will be in theaters in August.

personally, i'm looking forward to it. i love the original, which i still watch every now and then, so i'm hoping that it'll get a special edition re-release when the remake comes out.

how on earth do you replace Roddy McDowall, though?

I spent a while looking but there is no trailer yet. Odd since the movie is set to release on August 19.

Saw the trailer for this before "The Hangover 2".

Actually didn't look 1/2 bad... Still don't know why they need a remake of it. Probably a rental for me.

New Fright Night Pics Featuring David Tennant
A couple of new stills from the upcoming horror remake have hit giving us a better look at David Tennant as vampire slayer Peter Vincent..
By far the most intriguing character in Craig Gillespie's remake of the horror/comedy is Peter Vincent, re imagined from the original's late night horror host to a Vegas magician and played by former Dr Who David Tennant. He has been largely absent from any promotion aside from a character poster and very brief appearances in the trailers. So here we have a couple of new stills, featuring Vincent looking like he's ready to annihilate some night stalking ass..

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all–he's running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right– yet no one, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), seems to notice! After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

I'd rather they start coming up with some new ideas and stop being so lazy and cheap.  They've exhausted the remakes from 1980 and past, now they're on to remaking shows from the 80's. ::)  I guess it's cheaper to do a remake than something original.
