Deadman Getting His Own Television Show!
With Smallville's series finale earlier this year it was reported that The CW was looking for another DC character to take its place. Sources say that Deadman is next in line.

The CW is looking for its next big superhero hit with Smallville wrapping earlier this year. According to Deadline The CW is turning to Deadman to try and fill the void that Smallville has left behind. Supernatural creator Eric Kripke will serve as writer and executive producer on the show. Deadman was created by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantion.

Reports Deadline:

With Smallville ending its 10-season run this past May, the CW has made launching a new superhero franchise based on a DC property a priority. The network’s first effort this development season is Deadman, a drama based on the DC Comics books by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino, which will be written and executive produced by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

For those not familiar with the character Deadman is Boston Brand a circus trapeze artist who is murdered during a trapeze act and is given the power to inhabit other peoples body's by a Hindu Goddess named Rama Kushna. Deadman uses his power to bring his murderer to justice and continues on solving crimes. CW President Mark Pedowitz said last month "“We’re looking next year to do a superhero show if the right superhero comes to be." It looks like that right superhero is Deadman. There has been no word one when we might see the Pilot.

Interesting. In a way it would be a spinoff of Smallville.

Syfy Orders Script For New TV Show Based On DC Comics Character Booster Gold
Syfy has ordered a pilot script from Fringe writer Andrew Kreisberg for a small screen adaptation of Booster Gold. We have all the details on the creative talent behind the show as well as details on its premise here.
The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed SyFy's plans for a small screen adaptation of Booster Gold. The network has reportedly ordered a pilot script for what will be a one-hour drama from Fringe writer Andrew Kreisberg. Greg Berlanti's production company will oversee the project in association with Warner Horizon Television. It will credit both Berlanti (Green Lantern, No Ordinary Family) and Kreisberg as executive producers. DC Comics are expected to receive similar credit.

They also reveal a few details about the premise of the planned series.

The story will center on Booster Gold, a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back to the present in hopes of becoming the greatest super hero of all time. Instead of chasing criminals, however, his main priority is chasing fame and money. But Booster Gold discovers that being a hero takes more than just a megawatt smile, and that the future doesn’t happen without first protecting the present.

The character of Booster Gold was created by writer/artist Dan Jurgens in 1986 and has since become a prominent member of the DC Universe, currently serving as leader of Justice League International as part of the New 52. Booster's only live action appearance was earlier this year in the 18th episode of the final season of Smallville.
