Exactly, where's the ACLU coming to defend this guy for hanging a few American flags?

Perhaps you should write to the ACLU and ask for their help.  It seems to be right up their alley!  Perhaps you could give them a few days to respond.  I think they're working on a torture case at the moment.

Good to see they have their priorities straight by protecting terror suspects instead of the American flag ::)

Are you american? If so, then please tell me why it's not okay to stick up a flag that harms no one?

I'll defend your right stick as many flags up your ass as you like.

Of course you'll have to burn them afterwards.  :D

Perhaps the ACLU is going to get on it as we speak... If they do not, then they are missing the boat.

What a dumb ordinance.  You would think somebody in the room would have talked about the national implications of passing something so asinine.

Dodging the question..

I respect the ACLU for it's stance on seperation of church and state and it's push to legalize drugs.. But I'm not okay with bullshit like this, or them sticking up for NMBLA..

Pretty much every shopping district in America has appearance standards. Here in New York, there are height and depth standards for signs outside of stores and businesses. There's nothing  unusual about regulating something like that, especially since displaying more than three flags probably has less to do with "patriotism" and more to do with drawing attention to your business from the road.

I don't necessarily agree with the regulation, but this isn't really  a free speech issue.

Right in the article it says the regulation is designed to clean up the appearance of the city's main business boulevard, not random streets throughout the city.
