Yes, I'm willing to give it a chance.  Two of my favorite shows have been Sons of Anarchy and the Shield...  both from FX

I've read the couple of Elmore Leonard books the character developed from and they were pretty decent, so I'm actually interested in where this series goes.

yes ...without a doubt will watch this show....FX is the new HBO as far as great dramas...SOA and rescue me
are the shit...this show will be good...

PS.. breaking bad on spike starts soon and is also a great show...

"The Shield" started off good then became ludicrous with the shit those guys got away with.

i get that it's TV, but if you are going to have a gritty, tough cop show at least try and make it somewhat feasible

I just started watching The Wire, season 1 again.  I like SOA and Shield, but nothing I've seen even comes close to the wire.

agreed...there is nothing that comes close to the wire in regards to believable entertainment...The wire by far is the closest a show can come to the reality of the real world..SOA,the shield and the first justified show are good but a little far fetched but entertaining none the less...they all get a B...the wire?..an A+++

i have tried to find something almost as good as The Wire.  I got Dexter, it was pretty good.  Any recommendations for cool cop series?  I don't have SHOW or HBO, so I miss most of them.  I gotta get them on DVD later.

the corner....It's created by David Simon the same creator as the wire...It is a 6 part mini series that takes place in Baltimore as well...It has the same feel as the wire came out in 2000....Not quite as good but nothing is...anyone that enjoyed the wire should check it out...
