The best arcade game was the Ninja Turtles one where four people could play at once.There was also an X-Men game where I think six people could play, it was gigantic.
Sadly, I still think Pokemon Red + Blue beats all of these out, as it is a deep RPG experience with potentially hundreds of hours of play available (plus competitive multiplayer). Speaking of which, were there ever any actual RPG's for NES?

that was SNES.There was plenty of RPG's on SNES.Final Fantasy III and Secret Of Mana are the 2 I remember the most.
You'd roll into the arcade with your crew 4 deep; everyone would grab a stick and crank in quarters til you beat everyone of those games.
