Bro, I would argue that Dicksuckerson's win was even worse.  At least Franco was competitive in the upper body.  Chris had shit arms, a torn pec, asymmetric abs, pointy elbows and he was too small.  He had great calves, a good back and sliced quads.  Whoopee :/

Zane and Casey should have defeated him with ease -- Tom, too.  Samir probably deserved the overall.

Looking at those photos again I am pissed Platz didn't win.  Those other competitors (especially Dickerson) look almost untrained compared to the Golden Eagle.

      ok here goes.  Tom was a hell of a bodybuilder.  probably no one trained as hard as he did. NO ONE.  now tom didnt always train like a maniac but he did while trying to bring his upper body up to par with his legs.  His legs being his (obvious) best bodypart.  Tom was massive. ( and short)  But he had no proportion or symmetry . In a few poses he looked great but standing front his thighs were wider than his shoulders.  He looked weird. remember this was during the time when it was really BODYBUILDING as a sport an art form etc. he just didnt have it.  Im not knocking him he was a great bodybuilder and actually a pretty decent guy to talk to ( i have talked to him personally a few times) But then it wasnt judged like now.  unless you uhave ever seen him in person in his peak you just cant imagine how huge he was. BUT  he just didnt have the correct flow the proportion or symmetry to win.
