In this pic tom looks great but his lats and shoulders still dont match his calves and legs. Tom had certain poses he was unbeatable in. But shows then were not judged on just certain poses or who was the biggest. Look at him standing from the front. Can you honestly say he looked symmetrical? Proportional? Lmao. No way. Dickerson should of never won any show. He had nothing. I never understood how they kept giving him show after show after show. If there was ever any injustice to bodybuilding shows it was having dickerson win.

Dickerson was/is gay so maybe he was more inclined to earn his victory in the hotel room the night before with some judges.

Of course, that was 1981. His absolute best. Few people would argue that it should have been either Platz or Padilla.

No. By 1980 they only had 1 division. Previously hey had under 200 lbs and over 200 lbs.

Who decides what symmetry is as it relates to the human body - Symmetry from right to left yes
Only what is symmetry from front to back or upper body to lower body.
EG,. Is Phil Heath with them huge arms & delts & small pecs & narrow shoulders -
Arnold Symmetrical with those huge arms & Thin legs - & they both won multi Olympia’s

I don’t see bob as being any better than quite a few others with similar type physique
And he certainly had a decent physique - I’d say very well balanced.

There is no consistent standard to symmetry. It's whatever each judge thinks it is.
