I look at a physique and if nothing stands out then thats symmetrical.
I think they used to have some measurement, arms matching calves and neck, a specific difference in waist and chest and quads.
I think it was in the book Pumping Iron, I think Steve Michalick came closest but he didnt look very symmetrical onstage
Yes I believe it was also from Greek ideal as well as Steve Reeves type physique

let’s take Phil with huge overdeveloped arms & small chest & narrow shoulders yet many
Say he’s symmetrical- Same as Arnold huge upper body & slim legs
Yet many also critique Tom for his Legs 🙄 🤔
I think it comes down a lot to personal views & likes.
The Definition of Symmetry in the dictionary can’t really be applied to a body builders
Physique as all body parts have different maximal growth size
As long as The 2 arms / 2 legs / 2 delts / etc match Each other in size & shape
Then those individual body parts are symmetrical.
