I hope that most people are familiar with Rourke’s earlier acting.   He also had a small but trenchant role in “Body Heat,” playing a jailed bomber.  Also, “The Pope of...” had perhaps the best work by Eric Roberts.
Rourke was on his way to the top when he did “Year of the Dragon.”  Bad choices ensued. 
I think the French love him almost as much as they love Jerry Lewis.

I saw a screening of this film a couple weeks ago at the St. Louis International Film Fest....very good.

Rourke is outstanding as the lead, probably passes his role as 'Marv' in Sin City as his best of all time.  very good

I remember reading some articles in the past regarding his open candor in using anabolics in the past.. all things considered he looks to be in damn good shape for his age body wise...
