If you had your height checked late in the day, that 1/4" might have been just temporary spinal compression.
I prefer to understate my height and just say 6'1". Most think I'm around 6'3" because being thin it seems to make you look taller. Plus with shoes I am probably closer to 6'3". But, you're right, I have read that you get shorter as the day wears on if you are on your feet a lot.
BTW, for all you jealous midgets, I wasn't the one who brought up the subject of my height. It was about Gunter and his height which was called into question. He did seem taller than me but I will admit I really didn't pay that close attention. I just go by eye level. Most people I have to look down when I meet them but not with Gunter. Also, he is just so much bigger than I am so that could have added to the overall impression.
