Someone should tell him that's not a deadlift. A deadlift starts from the floor, not the finished position where you can(as the above poster said) take advantage of the bounce. I guarantee if he started that from the floor he wouldn't have got it anywhere. Still strong, but I doubt he could've done it from the floor.

Here's my suggestion - reduce the weight to around 300 pounds. Do reps of 8-10, focussing on proper form (ask someone to show you how to properly deadlift). This will help you build muscle, reduce the risk of you getting an injury, and ultimately, with proper training you will be able to do a proper deadlift with a bigger weights. (Also suggest you warm up to deadlifts and exercize your lower back with hyperextensions, and/or goodmornings bendovers with a bar across your back, again focussing on technique and keeping your back straight.

that is truly and honestly an accessory movement for the deadlift and a good way to train for heavier weights due to the reflex action and rebound off the floor to prep before attempting the weight off the floor..

some taller people find it easier to rack it/unrack it from there, but i've never seen said people bounce it/go stupidly heavy like that

The gentle pat on the back, horrible form, straps and the guy getting humped by the spotter as he wiggles the weight up his legs.

Haha what a retard.  That's not a real deadlift at all.  The kid no way could have pulled that from the floor.  He'll find out soon enough just how shitty his form is....i.e. back problems with form like that.

I knew a kid  just like that dude. Used to deadlift near 500, but with the craziet form imaginable for single reps. Couldn;t even bench 205 properly though. Horrible physique.
