Law enforcement agencies are prepping for a possible Trump indictment as early as next week
Local, state and federal law enforcement and security agencies are preparing for the possibility that former President Donald Trump will be indicted as early as next week, according to five senior officials familiar with the preparations.
Law enforcement agencies are conducting preliminary security assessments, the officials said, and are discussing potential security plans in and around the Manhattan Criminal Court, at 100 Centre Street, in case Trump is charged in connection with an alleged hush money payment to Stormy Daniels and travels to New York to face any charges.
The officials stress that the interagency conversations and planning are precautionary in nature because no charges have been filed.
The agencies involved include the NYPD, New York State Court Officers, the U.S. Secret Service, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, the officials said.
NBC News has reached out to all of those agencies for comment, and all have declined to comment.

US House Republicans launch investigation of Manhattan DA in Trump probe
U.S. House of Representatives Republicans went on the offensive on Monday against a possible criminal indictment against Donald Trump, launching an investigation into the New York City prosecutor who is probing allegations that the former president paid hush money to a porn star ahead of the 2016 election.
Three Republican committee chairmen sent a letter to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg seeking communications, documents and testimony from him related to his investigation of a $130,000 payment by Trump's former lawyer to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence over a 2006 sexual encounter she said she had with Trump.
Trump has denied any such relationship and any wrongdoing.
His fellow Republicans including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have accused Bragg, a Democrat, of abuse of power and using his office to pursue a political agenda. McCarthy had also said he would direct House committees to determine whether federal funds have been used in the district attorney's probe.
"You are reportedly about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former president of the United States," the Republican chairmen said in the letter to Bragg.
"This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis - any basis - on which to bring charges," they added.
The letter was signed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil.

Can you better explain to me why without the electoral college someone could win an election with only 33% of the popular vote. The only scenario I can think of is that there would be so many candidates that the remaining votes would be split into less than 33%. The U.S. is primarily a two-party nation with independents making up a small third party. There would need to be at least one more candidate for that to happen. With three candidates one would technically need 34% of the vote.
If you said with the electoral college someone could win an election with only 33% of the vote, it is a possibility.

I'd much rather have a POTUS who only won 33% of the popular vote (and that would of course mean there were at least one or more "third party" candidates who got a decent amount of the vote) rather than a POTUS lost the popular vote and won the electoral vote.
Also, the electoral college creates unfairness to both large and small states. A Republican is not likely to win the popular vote in California so they don't even bother trying to appeal to the voters in that state. Same goes for Dems in traditional red states.
The electoral college also gives much larger influence to states with small populations and economies who happen to be swing states
It's the UNITED States of America and every vote should have an even weight in the final decision

In my experience, many folks regardless of their race or ethnicity who are homophobic are often also hypocritical. Likewise, people who are comfortable in their sexual preference be it gay, straight or bisexual do not concern themselves with other people's sexual choices.

I am not from the United States, but I have lived there, and I do know from personal experience that it is the best place in the world to live in. And I am not the only one. I personally know of people in England, China, India, and even people from countries that don't like the US or don't like Americans, still want to come live in peace in the US. It's sad that too many Americans don't know what they have. Maybe they should come live for a while in another country so that they will learn to appreciate what they have there. The US is far from perfect and has made many mistakes, but it is still the best place in the world to live in.

If and when Trump is arrested, it will be a 'catch and release' type of arrest. No jail cell awaits Trump.
