Lower back / disc

I've had a lower back injury for sometime now, herniated my disc and I didn't want to stop squatting or dead lifting but I think I got to a point where I need to slow down.

Can I build mass ruling out dead lifts and squatting ??
If yes , what compounded movements I can do without hurting my back?
