Poor Kevin appears to be on track to lose the 4th ballot

Ah, behold the exploiter and the sycophant, the perfect symbiotic relationship. Each one feeds off the other.

Kevin is too stupid to tap out.

But seriously....  why would you want to lead a group now when it is clear that they don't want you.  This is like watching a Congressional episode of Mean Girls.

It’s only 10% of the party, so it’s not like it’s everybody. He does though, need to think about maybe rallying everybody around Jordan and bow out gracefully if he thinks that might stop this mess.

They three more votes to go before they break the most recent previous record set in 1923. I believe the all time record in 133 votes which happened in 1856. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any limit on the number of times the house can vote for Speaker of the House.

Unfortunately, the House is stymied for as long as this goes on because no other House business will be accomplished, including swearing the newly elected representatives into office. The Republican party looks fractured at this point. Without unity, the party will get nowhere ever. We are witnessing the implosion of the Republican party. Which appears to be fractured beyond repair.

Are you kidding?  You think that has a chance of happening?  He has been dreaming of this his entire life.  It's his holy grail quest to be upon.  He simply HAS to be Speaker.  Or else....

yep
it's kind of a hostage situation
the 10% can control the 90%
remember they are all supposed to be in the same party or coalition

I think McCarthy is done

I think he will pull it off in the end.  Not that it will matter because everyone knows how weak and insecure he really is.

Mr McCarthy shows us why loyalty & fidelity to Mr trump is so important

MTG went from throwing a fit about people not supporting McCarthy to throwing a fit about Gaetz and Boebert demanding committee positions for themselves in a meeting with McCarthy on Monday and not asking for Greene to have her committee status, which were revoked over her past support for conspiracies, to be reinstated.

Greene said she was "furious" that her conservative colleagues made personal demands without considering her.

hahahahaha.  The cat fight with Boebert continues.

Can someone hurry up and give this dude the Speaker spot?  He's desperate.  At this point anyone else would have said fuck you to the room and let them pick someone else.  But he is hanging in there for no reason.  9 votes and they don't want him.  Watch after the 12th or so when he finally gets it, he is going to fist pump the air and run around talking about how he "crushed it".   ::)

At this point he is only showcasing how ineffective he is going to be.

-Not sure what if any concessions he has left to give up. This is the absolutely dysfunctional Republican party folks have today. Glad I am not a Republican. To be one at this point is an embarrassment. Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and Marjorie Taylor Greene (she's not one of the dissenting votes) are only interested in their own "brand" and are not team players.

I don't think this will happen, but since the Democrats are voting in unison for Jeffries who has 212 votes if he got six more, he will be House Speaker.

I believe Trump has received 2 votes so far.

It seems like several Getbig right-wingers have gone silent since this fiasco started.

Has anyone ever lost this many votes in a row for Speaker?
