Title: Iranian radio transmissions said: "You will explode in a couple of minutes."
Post by: benz on January 07, 2008, 08:39:12 AM
The U.S. military has reported a "significant" confrontation with Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats that "harrassed and provoked" U.S. naval ships. At one point U.S officers were "in the process" of giving orders to fire after Iranian radio transmissions said: "You will explode in a couple of minutes."

Some countries will never learn.... when the bombs start falling, they learn :)

That's the kind of assumption that's brought peace to the middle east?   ::)

Doubt it bro.

But don't think I'm suggesting a passive approach.  I'm just pointing out, Bombing hasn't taught anyone anything in the middle east.  Especially when you are dealing with people who believe it's honorable be a suicide bomber, or have no problem killing innocent people in the name of their religion.

Maybe you are right about bombing, but iran isnt helping too much by doing this.

Thing is, all of these "little" events, end in a war, and with that, the usual hate against USA for shelling innocent people, but most people never want to see why it all started, just like it could be happening right now with this incident.

Maybe, maybe not.  It's possible Iran stopped trying to develop WMDs because we invaded Iraq.

Highly doubtful. That would give them fuel for cover, since eyes and ears would be diverted.

Also Iran said this "was something normal" of a incident.

Yep.  Kaddafi became awfully reasonably after we dropped a few bombs in the region.

Yeah, they said it was a "something normal" incident because they're trying to save face. They probably realized they were about 30 seconds from being blasted into the afterlife and decided to run off.

How is radioing a US warship and saying "I'm coming. You will blow up soon," something normal?  ::)

It is normal for them, they are used to threaten people with bombs and death

Iran is saying the footage is real but years old, they have a copy from.. years ago.  They said the voice is a dubbed accent not true iraninan.

Come on guys, bush lied to get into iraq.  Bush lied to keep his corporate buddys rich, thereby wrecking the american economy.

And his goal is to get into a war with Iran so the next administration will have a shitload of things to fix.........

Highly probable this Iran thing is fixed based upon bush history.

what if iran invaded and occupied canada, then mexico, then made it clear they did not like us and started tough talk and making demands of us, and all the time iranian warships and military were all around the area?

im not defending iran as islam is a shitty, backward destructive force, but for christs sake what do you guys expect? it always blows my mind that people assume that we can do all this stuff in the region and expect them to just not care? if they respond at all its an outrage or some 'hostile offensive scary evil move cause they are evil'? hahaha no they are just doing what ANYONE in their situation would do.

Um...how many dudes on those ships....they have the net..they have email. If it didn't happen u'd know. Stop the CT shit. It happened. The US did the right thing in not firing. If we wanted a war we'd have smoked em. Regardless...this was an exercise by Iran to see how we would react on a lot of different levels. Next time it might be different.

Just give the Anti-Americans time to draw comparisons to the Gulf of Tonkin incident and pretty soon they'll all be convinced that the US is trying to set up a war with Iran with this "boat incident". Even if Iranian aircraft dropped a bomb on their heads, they'd try to convince you that it was an American-piloted aircraft with fake Iranian decals. It would take Ahmadinejad himself coming to their door with his birth certificate and baby photos to persuade them that the nail bomb strapped to his chest is, in fact, a gift from Iran to you.

well said.. of course they're a bunch of wachos, but to expect them to be nice with aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf is fucking stupid.

Looks like one of the carriers did in fact fire a warning

The USS Whidbey on Dec 19th fired the warning shots

Dec 22nd USS Carr sent warning blasts from the ship to deter the speedboats

This is what Ralp Peters, a respected retired militrary officer, and author thinks. This is the first time I have disagreed with him..but it gives a good run down about what else the Iranians were up to....

January 8, 2008 -- EARLY Sunday morning, the US Navy lost its nerve and guaranteed that American sailors will die at Iranian hands in the future.

As three of our warships passed through the Straits of Hormuz, five small Iranian patrol craft rushed them. As the Revolutionary Guard boats neared our vessels, an Iranian officer broadcast a threat to our ships, claiming they'd soon explode.

The Iranians tossed boxes into the water. Mines? Just in case, our ships took evasive action......

ha, why in the HELL would iran instigate a war with us? how would it be in the best interest of iran, or those who control iran, to start a war with the united states?
it would be suicidal, and they arent that stupid. they have ZERO reason to instigate a war with us.

There is absolutely ZERO LOGIC in these FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAMIC COUNTRIES. All of your questions could apply equally to IRAQ and look what happened there.

Why would Saddam refuse to allow UN Inspectors to look for WMDs when there were none? Why would he continue to bait the international community into supporting sanctions against his country and people when it was not in the best interests of Iraq to do so?

This is frustrating.  These religions teach children to sing anti american songs.  Teach them to die for a noble cause  (suicide bomb) and theyre going to heaven for it.   They are seen as HERO'S by their society.

2007 was the deadliest year for troops ever.......and those bombers are just getting warmed up.    Lets throw in a million more in Iran, now.

Now that bush has the hive going, it had to go this way, I guess. :-\

I don't believe a word the US media is reporting.

As far as I see it, we're being set up like dumbasses once again!

Fuck that shit!
