What is the best weedeater yes they build traps :)
« on: April 25, 2013, 01:26:36 PM »
i really dislike stihl they seem to be a bitch to start after a year of use then have to get them serviced and have had the pull cords break

these weedeaters are a pain for me to even start , i have a craftsman its new and the string load is gay as hell you have to basically put in a new string everytime takes about 10 cranks, gonna take this one back and maybe get a huskavana or echo

I would go with the Husqvarna. Consumer Reports approved.

Troy-Bilt.

I have a gas blower / vacuum model and it has been very reliable and starts after a few pulls even at the beginning of the season after being stored for winter. You just have to prime it well. It also has not blown up when sucking up larger particles. I had a motor die on me from a competitor (I think it was Black and Decker) when it sucked up a larger piece of wood or little rock.

Excellent work on a air cooled engine it usually a plug or air filter. Did you take that piece of shit Craftsmen back?

False.  Overpriced plastic crap.  Ashamed to say I own their weedeater and blower and starting is cardio every time.  I'm not a knowledgeable engines guy but these fucking things have never run well.  And the line feed is an utter girl.  I dread using that POS.

My Rover rotary mover w/ a Briggs & Stratton is bulletproof.  The Honda on my airless sprayer also a pleasure to start.

What do you think of electric weed eaters?

They good? Or should I stick to gas?

i actually think it was the plastic cover on the outside of the air filter suffercating the intake

i took the plastic cover off

i trouble shooted by removing the air filter then cranked it, cranked right up!

better than the gas ones.

you can pull 2.4kW from them. Thats about 3.5HP. runs first time every time, less noise, no fumes, no vibration, no fuel, no temperament, low heat, longer life.....

i swear though when i picture the average man dealing with my weedeaters they would collapse on how hard you have to pull that cord a number of times to get it to crank lol

you gotta be a really angry to get these stihls some times to crank properly but it couldve been my air filter all along

always take the airfilter out then crank it to diagnose an airfilter problem

remove spark arrester with wrench

check sparkplug clean it off or buy new one

always use 89 octane mix with oil

87 octane messes up the carbeurator and primer bulb

Don't even waste your time with the Craftsman.

Echo all the way. Beat the piss out of those things in a landscaping business and they never really fail. Usually just need to replace the head assembly or button on the bottom when it gets worn down.

Plus, I'd say the weedwhacking experience builds more forearms than traps.

Outed.

You can store your electric weedeater in your garage with your electric lawn mower and Prius.

A battery model would be great if you only have a small run to do.
