Ironman 2009 - Discusses Effects of Having the Ironman so EARLY
« on: January 19, 2009, 05:15:24 PM »
Bob Chick was talking about the Ironman on PBW and making the point that the early date of the show might have kept some of the Arnold competitors from competing.  Last year most of the top Arnold compeitors did both shows.  This year, not so much.  Victor, Branch, Kai and Freeman all waiting for the Arnold.  Are these guys just following the money now?  You would think that in a bad economy they would want to get every check they can get.

well also in this bad economy these guys can only afford to do one show maybe, and are putting all there eggs in one basket. Especially the lower-mid tier guys.

For what it's worth.. The traditional scheduling of the Ironman should be a week before the Arnold. . Using the Ironman before the Arnold as a warm up show is a good idea. Plus the pics taken at the Ironman for the top guys always made for quality 8x10's

Why would Vic want to waste his time with such a crappy little show and risk losing the Arnold?

10K?  Are they joking?  There's no way a seasoned pro would waste his time with a show like the Ironman.

Heard that on the show.  I think Bob might be right but it probably wouldn't matter because Victor aint competing in the Ironman no matter when it is. Freeman probly would enter both if they were close together.  At least the contest aint in Chicago or some place cold in January.

False....Kai is a contender.  He's more consistant than Vic.  I have him winning the Arnold.  Remember this post.

Maybe they don't think it's a good idea for the gays to drive from California one weekend, and then cross country to Ohio the next. How practical would that be?

good question.  How does a pro bodybuilder walk away from a 100k check?  These guys should ALL want to compete at Arnolds show!

Is "Mass" still in style in pro bodybuilding?  Dexter in, Cutler Out.  Heath in, Wolf out.   :-\
