I did 315 when I was sophomore in HS at 185 bw.


Many many moons ago I benched 425 at 180 bw
and later 480 at 195bw

Alas not any more age & accident put paid to such things  :'(

So When I asked if you could bench 350lbs today that is a no then? Remember we are talking about today. You attacked me claiming I can t bench 350lbs today. I asked if you could do it and you want to talk about many moons ago.

I am simply getting my strength back. I am not trying to do anything astronomical. I don't think that is unreasonable based on where I am now and where I have been previously.

Not a fan of those plates myself. Im sort of a plate-snob though (Old school milled-back Yorks, perfectly weighed Ivanko's, etc) but those are OK for most people I guess...

They are really easy to load and unload as you can fit your hand through the holes and grab them as they are not touching the other plates up top. Never had an issue until I wanted to do smaller incremental adjustments on the strict curl as then they are too wide. I am going to get a pair of calibrated 55lb plates to use less of the bar end.

Power lifting competition - I will definitely 100% give you all the Praise you Deserve

Until such time I'm not impressed with a self proclaimed " I'm a big strong man"

All ball busting and shit throwing back and forth aside....why?   Why do it.  Do you feel your development is so lacking that you have to push yourself to that point.  Where you are now is that you have problems with your pecs, you have shoulder issues as well as elbow issues.  Why increase the possibly of further injury to all of that stuff?  Why is it worth it?

I don't think that would be pushing it. I have been very slowly taking my time not pushing it. I think that will just be the natural progression of my current path. I don't think adding 20-30lbs to my max bench in a year is pushing it. Honestly, I think I may be close right now. I would not attempt 350lbs if I didn't feel I could bench it comfortably.  As far as why I am shocked you would ask. Why get up after falling down?? Why do what others think can not be done? Why challenge yourself? Why take back everything life and time have taken away? You don't think I also plan to improve my legs? I am not old and decrepit yet. I still have blood in my veins. I will rise like a phoenix. If you think I am already dead then prepare for the resurrection. The best is yet to come

You want to fuck up your elbows have at it the lock out is a rested position. It takes all the stress off the muscle and risk hyperextension of the elbow
